Buying Advice: Cartamundi 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Poker Set (2 Viewers)

Hey everyone,

I have the opportunity to scoop up the set mentioned in the title.

I found the set online here:

This is the one I am talking about (500pcs, case, 2x cards, 1x DB):

It is a T5 tournament set with the following breakdown:
5 x200pcs
25 x150pcs
100 x100pcs
500 x50pcs
Chip design is very similar to Casino Royale but the inlay says "50 years of James Bond" in golden font around the red denomination in the center.

I still need to verify with more pictures, that it is legit, but in case it really is one of the 3000 sets sold, I'd need help with the value of the item.
I won't tell you the offer I've gotten, so you can give me an unbiased opinion.

The set is complete and in unused condition.

I think the "value" is more based on what you give it. To my understanding, the chips are not of any significant value, so it would be mostly resting just with the case and the perceived value/rarity of it. I may not know what I'm talking about, but I would be careful spending a shit ton of bread.

Not sure the definition of rare is 1.5M but 14g metal slugged plastic chips with a poor breakdown isn't my thing at any price point.

The only question you should be asking yourself is would they make you happy?

The breakdown is ass. We play T25 base for several years now. I like them because I am a Bond fan and I would consider them if they have a collectors value. In my quest to build a movie accurate set, I noticed that there is quite some demand for the higher Cartamundi denoms. I just wanted to see if these compare since I did not find any of them for sale online.

So yeah, I would not buy them to felt them, rather to collect and maybe sell them on later.

Crappy chips (I can confirm it) and nothing special about them as they haven't been in the movie, only low denoms, etc. But they do look nice, and if you get them very cheaply worth a shot. I personally like them (the originals, but it's basically the same except for the labels).

In my opinion it‘s more a Bond collection thing than a chip collection thing…
It‘s special, and ‚rare‘ in some way. But is it really useable?
If you want it for your Bond collection, go for it!
Otherwise - no fun on the felt.

I don't think you will like how they play on the felt, they are way heavy and clunky.
