Been using my BW cash set a bunch and noticed the whites picking up some red transfer. I'm sure it will clean up but wondering if anyone else noticed this and took action.

Thanks

Have you noticed the typical white ring wear on the chip face at the edges? It was discussed but the thread became vapor.

No but I will take a closer look at the reds since I will not notice it on the whites and the green don't get as much use.

I believe someone who did a lot of shuffling posted some pics of a $25 and another (maybe a $100) that were beginning to show telltale white ring wear. Can't remember how much shuffling they had done but it was already pretty noticeable. Hate that all that resource info has disappeared.

That was me! They have about 120 hours of shuffling on them. If anybody wants the pics, I can find somewhere to upload them.

Thanks, @Joe Harris feel free to pm them to me if you don't want to upload them. I would like to have them for reference. I remember the pics, they were typical of the Chipco white ring. I'm not a shuffler but it's good to know that they eventually will begin to show that kind of wear over time.

Since they are ceramics I expect all the typical type of issues, edge wear, color transfer. Just not familiar with how much SunFlys will be affected compared to Chipcos.

The Chipco white ring was an intentional design feature, present so that outer ring wear would not be apparent. By not printing anything on the outer ring, normal wear and tear on the chips were not noticeable.

Any ceramic chip without that 'feature' -- regardless of manufacturer -- will eventually show wear in that area. Hybrids are no exception.

Personally, I always hated the Chipco white ring design. Very restrictive on what could be printed, and completely eliminated the possibility of having artwork roll over to the edge -- thus making true edge alignment artwork designs an impossibility.

That's why I call that type of wear the Chipco white ring. It is inevitable with ceramics so they made those chips that way to begin with. Not that i liked em' that much but I thought it was a pretty smart marketing plan on their part.
