Uncirculated mirages, those were fun to acquire lol
did you harvest those EX mirage 5's yourself? What days were you there? I was there a lot late june/early july and they were pretty sparce. Did they bring out a bunch of them on the last few days or something?

Did since 2 years ago. It was easy back then but got pretty hard the last 2 weeks before closing. They got sharp ones around late 2022.

Got these on one visit (2 hours?) mid June, along with racks of 1s and handful of nice other denoms

This is how most of them looked, but I found a cool group of dealers at craps that all worked there since they opened. Gave me some awesome history lectures on the chips. Insisted I took all the older chips, now I truly regret it. They were actually searching through their barrels for the older stuff.

Very cool.

What is the uncirculated rack really just minty chips you pulled from the craps table or did you go to the cage and they gave you a rack?

Craps, black jack, and roulette tables. A combination, they wouldn’t give me more than a barrel per table and it took me hours to convince pit bosses. Once I got a taste of a uncirculated barrel, the addiction was on. I had to finish the rack lol.

I can't believe you put together that mint rack in one day, let alone a couple hours. Man, I need to take harvesting lessons from you. haha. on all my visits it was about two to four mint chips per barrel, if I was lucky. Well done.

It took me two nights, but the first night I was just scoping out what the had and got the first barrel on the right. I saw that 4 of those chips were practically new, so I started scouting out the tables. Once I spotted a minty rack, I think the dealers noticed and started some small talk and I took it from there. It was an awesome experience, they taught me more than I knew about the mirage. They were very welcoming and sad that their casino was closing.

I suck at photography, but here’s a few close up shots.

The texture is amazing. So sad they don’t make chips like this anymore.

I’m planning on keeping at least a barrel of these since the poker room will be closing down soon. Still one available for purchase.
