Not Mine California Bell quarters (1 Viewer)

To anyone interested in a rack of Cali Bell quarters... I will happily sell my current rack of quarters for HALF of what this auction sells for... Assuming I win it... These chips are in better condition than what I have... And I want them... Who knows how much I am willing to bid on these.

Uh oh. Listing has been removed? I hope you got 'em Shaggy.

Edit: my bad. When I clicked the link, it said that the listing had been removed. Must have just been a loading error or something? Anyway, go get 'em!

Local pickup and a good offer might get the owner to pull them off eBay and guarantee you get them. @Trihonda or others in the Madtown crew may be able to help.

@DrStrange These weren't on my eBay radar because they don't contain the word "Paulson". I'd recommend including it in your future auctions to reach a wider range of collectors, (just as a suggestion).

Good luck with the sale!

Edit: error, nevermind - I just realized these aren't yours

Well, I was going to take a stab at these myself.... AND then I noticed they were located in Madison. Hope that gives me an edge... :)

Getting chips out of my hands is hard, very hard. It does happen but not with chips like these. If I had been sitting on a rack of quarters, I wouldn't have been polite and let the wishy-washy group buy get firmed up to pay for that big set of Bells sold here:

I have a wide net of search terms. I even can find nice plastic chips from the 1980s like these.

But most important of all, I wouldn't have offered these on eBay, I would have posted a classified ad here and kept these sweet chips in the family if for some reason I wanted to sell them off.

I have inquired with the seller regarding better clarification as to the condition of the chips as a whole. I have updated pics. I will request that the seller add them to his auction. Based on this new information, I will not be bidding on these... so @Trihonda, have at it.

Its not that these chips are bad. They are just of a comparable to what I already have... a handful are better than what I have... but not enough to justify my purchase.

As stated earlier, I will not be bidding on this. I am not sure what @Trihonda's Cali Bell interest is, but I know @Godzilla28 has an extensive set and is interested in this listing. I recommend we don't drive up the price for either of these two... and/or they work it out ahead of time to save some cost on their end.

My interest lies in creating a small mixed travel set. I really like these quarters. That said, if someone absolutely NEEDS these to complete their set, I'd likely defer to them. Shaggy Is right, it's stupid to drive up the price. I've started a conversation with me he seller as well, and they're a small time operation that sells online. They're willing to forgo shipping for local pickup, but thus far have been resistant to go off-line and chat outside of eBay. I Dare not ask IN eBay to move the transaction private.

That said, I explained the issues with shipping chips, proper packaging, etc.... But who knows how they'd actually ship them. They don't appear to be a chipper, but ya never know.

I have about 60 of the quarters in good condition with good hotstamps. From this eBay lot, I can use around a dozen of these.

@Trihonda, how far are you in building this mixed travel set? If you don't mind the faded hotstamps, I can help you build a small set of these...I have about 3000 of them in total. If you want a full rack of nice condition quarters and other denoms that stand on edge, I would not recommend this series. I have spent 8+ years searching for the good ones and for the quarters, I still only have 60. Hard work, man! Just FYI. LMK if you need any help with the used condition chips. Cheers. :p

Chatted offline with the seller. Seems like they feel the value of these chips is $200+. They are also reluctant to cancel an auction with bids on it. I won't be spending $200 on these... What do people think is a fair price?

When I thought they were in great shape, my number was $200-$250. In the shape they are in, my number would be $100-$150... If I needed them. I got mine a couple years ago for around $0.75 each... For whatever that comparison is worth.

Ditto what Shaggy said. No way this rack is worth $200 in this condition. If all the hotstamps were good like in the first released pictures, they might be a 2 hundo rack but I knew that was too good to be true. In present condition, I wouldn't even pay more than $100.

Ya, the sellers initial assessment of how many chips were good was way off. When pressed, she had to admit only 20% were decent. We will see

Considering listing my entire California Bell lot soon. Not sure I want to...kinda want a drone though. Anyone here interested in a big lot these chips?
  • (0.50) x 135
  • (1.00) x 1450'ish
  • (5.00) x 400
Close to 2000 chips in all. Each have been through the Ultrasonic and hand-oiled.

Let me know via PM if you're interested. I'm really needing to sell as a lot. As I paid $1 each for many of the one`s, Im wanting to get about $1600.

And what the heck is up with the $22.40 shipping and handling for 1 rack of chips. Is there an armored guard that comes with the chips? I'm out. Good luck guys.

I guess someone is willing to pay $150 a rack shipped after all. I have about a hundred of these in this condition that I would go $140 shipped. LMK
