Just for any cruisers...

These are both in play on the Carnival Horizon.

I have never tried to get a rack off a cruise ship, but I've gotten over 10 chips off a ship in just one visit to the casino. I guess if I grabbed 10 each time I went to the casino, I would be able to get a rack. Not sure.

Many years ago, I played in the Party Poker WPT tournament on a cruise ship. The entire ship was there for poker. It was great. Besides the main event, they had 1-table sit-n-go's running all night.

I've heard the rake is pretty insane on cruise ships, so you'd better be sure you're the shark at the table.

I went on a royal Caribbean cruise. Honestly I don’t know what the Rake was. All I know it was a 2/5 table with one other mid 20s LAG that would raise all the time get a bunch of callers. Then I would wait to be in position, 3b everyone fold take down $100 pots preflop. Multiple older gentleman that would go all in on absolute junk, lose, ask for their clipboard to sign off for another refill. I literally had one guy tell me he hadn’t paid for a cruise in 20 years because of points and he was just there for conversation and a good time. I almost felt bad winning pots from him.

Was just on a RC cruise a month ago and not a single person wanted to play in the daily poker tournaments that they offered. The prize for the main event on the last day was a free cruise for 2 or $1000 cash. I asked the floor manager if I was the only interested party if I won the cruise automatically. He laughed and said that they had to have at least a full table (7 people, WTF?) playing in the main event to award the cruise or the cash.

I donked away $200 at the blackjack table in 10 minutes instead.

Whomp whomp.

There was poker on Royal? Huh. Last time I was on it was hard to even get a heads up game going, let alone a full table. Rake on Norwegian is 10% up to $25, so I'm pretty sure it's the same across all cruise ships.

Hmm ya there was multiple tables each night. Daily tourneys, they were a donk fest. The blind structure was a ultra turbo. If you didn’t sign up the day before you weren’t getting in.

What was the buyin? Wondering if paying entry for the wife and five other randos would be +EV...
For the initial satellite turbos? The entry was free. Literally no one wanted to play though.

There was a 2/5 cash game option any time a tournament wasn't going on, but for the number of times I walked through the casino, no one at all was playing.

Was able to build up a rack from the last 8 day cruise I went on!
