It’s been just over a year (much less without poker in the last 6 months because of Covid) and it looks like I will be in it for the long haul here on PCF so it is time to memorialize my journey in a consolidated photo thread.

I live in a tropics city with various colorful fruit tress in my yard. My house had already been dubbed Casa Mango due to a monstrous mango tree being the centerpiece of my backyard. We play outdoors all year round underneath this mango tree so the name has carried over to our game.

I have several mango trees but during mango season, the main mango tree sheds 100-300 mangos per day. Some mangos are falling from 30’ high. We have a standing prop rule that if anyone gets a head shot from a mango during the game, everyone owes them a fiver. None the less, you don’t wan to win that prop.

After some sample sets and before even getting my customized CC Dunes in play I needed a “real” compression clay chip set and grabbed CPC Aurora Club tournament chips from @AK Chip that I loved. My players really started to dig chips at this point.

Taking advice from the forum I realized we need a table that the players could appreciate. I anticipated building a foldable topper for my existing 8ft patio table (so we need it to be reactangular otherwise it would need to be too long to cover the table), since I live in the city and don’t have a lot of space and don’t have a basement or a garage. But once we had the basic rough table assembled we couldn’t bring ourselves to cut it in half so on the fly we figured out a way I could store it in full.

Thanks to the forum I learned how to mill chips for my Aransas fracs. But now that I have felt Paulson and also now felt a couple THC Paulsons I know that is my path and since I can mill it’s time for a semi custom solids set. Screw traditional colors, as long as there bright like tropical Miami.

How many times have you had to pay out the "mango injury" bonus?

Believe it or not we still haven’t had a direct head shot from a mango while seated so no one had won the prop bet. We have had a couple hits to the board and some grazing of the shoulders and arms. It is loud and everyone jumps when one hits the table. And we did have one floor ruling on a head hit, but it was ruled a shoulder shot not a head shot. One day!

Love this!! Mangos are one of my favorite and all your work has turned out spectacular! Thank you for posting! Definitely worth following, congratulations on your journey so far!
