Looking to build a S2 mixed set to be relabeled into a tourney set.

I have come across approximately two racks (might be a couple more) Cascade Lanes Bud Jones in used condition (hooker juice present, but they are BJ's afterall).

Two questions.

1.) I noticed there is not much suction with these chips, presumably because they are broken in. Will this suction return once they are cleaned up? Relabeled?

2.) What is a fair price for these chips?

More knowledgeable folk can chime in. The only bud jones chips I've sampled have all been S7's and they've all been suctiony. From what I've read here, the suctionyness is only a feature of the S7's.

That was kinda my understanding too. Less prevalent on other lines.

But the Parkers are V6 are they are pretty suction-y... @mike32's were in pretty good shape and you could pick up 3-4 chips at a time by pressing down on the barrel.

Those with more knowledge, these Cascades are S2's, correct?

Current price per chip/per rack?

Seems to me a good buying price for these is around 60 cents per, especially for the ones. I wouldn't want to pay more, in fact I'd want to pay less unless I really needed them.

S2's feel nothing like V6's & V7's which both exhibit the (so called) suction effect. totally different feel & handle. S2's stack like bricks as well.

Those Cascades pictured are extra funky and scratched/beatup even by Bud Jones standards. I wouldn't go over 40c/chip for those. Also the Cascades are notorious for having color shade variations between the different rack orders (which is also notable in the pic) that always bugged me.

I figured if the WSOP used S2's, they couldn't be as bad at the suction thing as the Parkers (no offense to the owners). I thought the 16ish chips I had loose were pretty slippery, FWIW. But I'm trying to shuffle them on my desk, not the more forgiving felt of a table.

Also, FWIW, those are 1/10th of the lot. I'm sure there are better examples in the rest of the racks, color shade variations aside.

I concur.

I have about 1,200 cascade lanes. Like them a lot. No suction effect. Some color variation among white ones. Looks like two different batches. Doesn't bother me. The other denominations are fine. I wanted some more 25s but couldn't find any. I bought some midway casino 25s which are very similar but the color variation is pronounced.

I think I paid 40 cent per chip from the chiproom 5 years ago. I supplemented on eBay at 50 cent per chip.
