Don't take the plastic racks with you and they likely won't care.

In my experience local casinos are more strict.

I am pretty sure Vegas casinos won't have a problem with taking chips home (don't take racks). In Vegas I would go to the main cashier and tell them you want some souvenir chips. If you are lucky they will go to the back and get you some pristine new ones.

Vegas will generally be cool with it as they are a tourist town and there to cater to the public. Local casinos have a different ethos and could be less cool about you taking their chips home. Just something to consider.

When I open my own local casino in my basement with my own set of CPC customs, I will likely train my cashiers to keep an eye out for you harvester types and not allow this....

I went to a local casino in CA earlier this week and asked for two racks of ones to take with me. The cashier told me that "once I bought them they are mine so I could do what I want with them". I took my two racks and immediately left before the floor could say anything about it.

It's spotty wherever you go. Just be nice, and if confronted tell them you need them for a bachelor party - or just be upfront and say you want them for your home game. No crime, and they will nicely either let you or not. But either way they normally won't throw you out, although it has happened!

Yeah agreed. I think if you are upfront and approach it with a chill demeanor you should be ok. Worst scenario is they tell you "no" and then you obey them...

It is a bit like crossing the border. It largely depends on if someone feels like making your life difficult.
