Thanks to @bentax1978 I was able to complete my mixed casino set

200 x GV $1s
300 x Casablance $5s
100 x Mark Twain $25
100 x MO Aztar $100

Used in a local $1 / $2 game sponsored by a non-PCFer who prefers fewer chip :eek:(n) on the table.
A $300 buy-in gets you 10 x $1, 18 x $5 and 8 x $25
Rebuys (up to $600 after 9pm) are generally with all $100 chips

Some think perhaps there's too much pink between the $5s and $25s so have been toying with the idea of changing the $25s with Mo Aztar $25s, but then the sets not as mixed as I'd like... any thoughts appreciated

I also pair these with one of these fracs for 0. 25 / 0.50, 0.50 / 0.50 or 0.5 / 1.00 cash games at the Lion's Den

My other casino set is a PCA set which is not yet complete... I'd love to get another 2 barrel of the $100s
If you can help me out -- sell or trade -- please let me know
This set is sometimes used for the 1/2 game mentioned above and used with its own fracs for smaller cash games
These $5s are the nuts

Enjoy!

Great looking sets!

I can see the point about the pink on the $25s along with the pink $5s, but too much pink isn't always a bad thing! The chips are still easy to tell apart in stacks so it shouldn't be much of an issue.

I'm not sure if you're looking for a certain mold, but since there's a lot of Horsehoe Cleveland chips floating around maybe consider the primary $25 (green with light green/orange edge spots.) I don't see those colors in that set. This may also depend on condition though, as the primary are a little harder to find in nice shape if the rest of your set is mint. The secondary are available in mint condition but I believe those may also have pink in the edge spots.

Love the first set as is, especially those hundos. What exactly is the rationale for wanting fewer chips on the table??? Fish more likely to pay off if it costs same value but fewer chips?

PCA set is epic. I do have a barrel of those hundos and some 25's as well, though I'm quite fond of them. We can chat sometime :)

Not sure there is a rational expect that the 1/2 plays almost like 2/5... $5 - $15 button straddles are common and pots often get large quickly.

Personally, I'd be bugged more by the mismatched molds (RHC $1/$25, THC $5/$100) and the combination of faux and real shaped inlays. Plus the spots on the $25 and $100 chips are both in the yellow/red families.

PCA secondary $25 would look sharp with this set, and bridge the THC gap between the $5 and $100 chips. The Jack Cincy $1 or Horseshoe Clev $1 would fit nicely, too, keeping it all THC.

Then start a second all-RHC set with the Grand Vic and Mark Twain chips! Add Horseshoe $5s and either Aztar or Oak Tree hundos. All different faux-shaped inlays, too. :D

(Assuming the question wasn't rhetorical) I think there are a lot more arguments for fewer chips, than more.
Cost matters for a lot of people when you're talking about chips that are over a buck apiece.
Storage and/or transportation is a lot easier with fewer chips.
Fewer chip means larger denominations are on the table which can be more appealing both visually (more colors) and psychologically (using big chips like a big shot.)
It just seems more intuitive - i mean how many people here have all ones in their wallet?
As long as you have the right balance so you're not making change constantly, the game moves faster - it's easier to peel off and visually total a $25 and a $5 than six $5's.

Dave, I like your suggestions but similar to @MikesDad, the mixed molds don't bother me at all. I get much more bothered by mixing light and dark inlays as you suggest above. That doesn't bother you more? The inlays are more pronounced than the molds, no? Catching the eye first. Hell, I think you had to point out to me that the MT $25 was RHC before I even realized it. ;)

Hey, if everybody here all had the same tastes in chips, we'd all have the exact same boring sets..... and the pr0n section would be really, really small. Embrace the variance!! Moar chipes!!!
