Chaos Poker Tournament (32 Viewers)

I'm flying home from Vegas and when I was here, they had a Chaos Poker tournament. It's run by BARGE.

The basic Idea was that at each blind change, they would roll dice and random things would happen. Blinds would go up or down, button would move, etc.

Sounded like fun, especially for a lower buy-in tournament.

While waiting to board our flight home from Vegas, I was thinking:

Red Die:
1 - blinds move down one level
2 - blinds are unchanged
3,4 - blinds move up one level (ie the normal thing that happens at a blind change)
5 - blinds move up two levels
6 - blinds move up three levels

Blue die:
1,2,3,4 - nothing
5,6 - next hand is a bomb pot - two big blinds

Green die:
1,2,3,4 - nothing
5,6 - redraw for button

If all three dice are the same (1 in 36), two random players swap chip stacks.

Thoughts or suggestions?

Wait till you get the “lose all your colorup chips during colorup” surprise. It’s a real motivator.

Not quite.

Odds are 1 in 36 of a specific number matching on two dice. Odds of any match is only 1 in 6.

Same goes for 3 dice. 1 in 216 of a specific triple match, 1 in 36 of any triple match.

I'll give 3-dice random shit rules a go.

Roll three colored dice and:

BLUE BLINDS
1 - blinds decrease for one level
2 - blinds remain as-is for next level
3 - blinds advance as normal
4 -blinds advance but add a BBA for one level
5 - blinds skip a level
6 - blinds triple for one level then revert

RED WEIRDNESS
1 - next hand bomb pot
2 - next level alternate regular & bomb pots
3 - next hand double-board (one winner)
4 - next level all double-board
5 - next hand bomb pot double-board
6 - proceed as usual

GREEN CHAOS
1 - everyone gives player on left 1/2 of stack
2 - everyone gives player on right 1/2 of stack
3 - next level, big blinds post a 2x BBA but get no cards
4 - next level, all players post a BBA every hand
5 - next level, UTG straddles after the BBA
6 - proceed as usual

I'd play for a $5 buy-in. Maybe $20 with the right crowd.
