Tried searching but had no luck

Anyone have advice on how to remove china clay stickers for relabels?

Saw hobbyphillic scratch china clays with his knife very easily so i figured xacto knife or razor would scratch chips up...

any tips or tricks??

Ex. On car stuff we would use heat gun or hair dryer and plastic razor blade or something like wd-40 or goo gone or 3m adhesive remover or kerosene or tar remover or new car gum solvent and it would easily remove stickers and adhesive

Any oddball tricks that would work on poker chips to remove sticker easily?

Lots of ways to skin a cat (or a chip).

If I don't care about keeping the label, I do it like this.

Keeps the knife away from the recess edge so you can cover up any damage with the new label. But with a little practice, you can do it without leaving any scratches at all. Takes me 4-5 seconds a chip. No heat or solvents needed, labels come off clean and very easily.

All it takes is using an X-Acto type pointed blade and pry the label up carefully at the edge. I then grab the edge carefully with my fingers and pull up the rest of the labe without creasing it. You can remove most of them this way without damaging them and actually reuse them immediately if needed. With the X-Acto blade you will rarely damage anything if you’re careful.

Good info guys. I'm looking at some China clay sets and was wondering about this. It sounds like Gear is the guy for new labels. Can he match the originals? I like the Majestics, but might do exactly what's in these pictures and swap out .50's for a T10000 or T25000 if I can match the labels easy enough.

That's awesome! Did you move the 5,000 to the orange, or are those Gear labels too?

Actually I bought brown $5000 and blank oranges and moved the labels over right after they arrived. I also bought stock salmon $0.25 chips and blue blank chips and moved those over too. I then sold the extra blank chips.

Great tips thanks!

What's the trick for removing the labels to move them? It looks like the pictures ropedr the original label. Do you just try to get under the label with the xacto knife to keep it intact?

Yeah. Usually the labels aren’t stuck down very tight in all places. Just pry up with the X-Acto knife on the edge and if you can’t get a hold of it on that edge then move to another part of the label until you can pull it up with your thumb and finger. The stock labels are very rigid and it’s really difficult to damage them if you’re careful.
