I recently was reviewing a spreadsheet of my historic chip purchases and couldn't believe what have slipped through my fingers the past several years. Wow.

So how 'bout it...what is your current chip inventory (pics not necessary) and you selling regrets?

Here's my current inventory:
3 full custom sets from ASM/CPC. Hmold, No-mold, Amold.
2 New/MInt stamped THC sets; tourney/cash
1 china clay set
1 faux clay set
1 New/Mint spotted/ stamped BCC MGK mold
1 New/MInt Key West CPC hmold

Biggest regrets
1) Mint PCA cash set with mint primary $1s, $100, and $500 plus custom dealer button with rights granted from PCA legal.
2) New/mint BCC mardi gras
3) New/mint BCC CDI
4) New/mint BCC Monterey Club
5) Mint blaze orange spotted Outpost $2. Eventually acquired 3 racks but couldn't stomach the overall bad shape of the $1s.
6) Used TRK Riverside $5's mixed set with Nevada Club solid white $1's. The NC where bleh so sold off set but the blue Riverside $5's out the bomb. Coulda woulda hung onto both the outpost $2s and riverside $5s for a great 2/5 game. What a dumbass.
7) damnnn forgot to mention my minty set of BCC Speak Easy and
8) New/Mint BCC Commission

And a few other used paulson casino chip sets.

Selling Regrets:

1) TRK King's Crown Hot Stamps...:(
2) PCA Secondary Cash w/ Blue Chip 25¢

Glad to see I'm not the only regretful chipper.

I think PCA and TRK will top the list of regrets. Shaped inlays, minty, goodness :(

I currently have 1 Paulson Set, 1 ASM cash set, 1 CPC tournament set, and a set of Boardwalks.

Regret selling these ... and I believe most of them went to @pltrgyst (if you ever sell the Tuks, let me know)

Thankfully no major selling regrets, they were all casino used Paulson (Empress, PCA, HS CLE, etc) or fantasy chips (Pharaoh's).

I guess the biggest regret would be the timing of when I sold. If I had waited a little longer I could have gotten a lot more more them all.

That's 3/3. I should probably should rethink my plan to sell my PCA secondaries
Yeah, same here. Based on the posts here, I'm thinking my TRKs and PCAs should just go into the 'never-sell' portion of the chip closet.

My PCA set are in the "not for sale" zone with 0 intention of changing that. I have turned down some large dollar amount offers for them already.

They are to me the lower end of the tier 1 sets. Since I will never be able to justify spending the money it would take to get a set I consider better than it I will hold on to these and be very happy doing so. :)

Oh, I also deeply regretted selling my Oak Trees, so @MikesDad let me buy them back for the same price. They are in my set of keepers for now.

everything has a price though .. at least, in my book

I agree. But my price is much higher than the current prices that the PCA secondaries are selling for. I would need to be able to replace the set with something I desire more to consider selling.

As has been said here many times before, I can make more money, they aren't making any more PCA secondary chips.

And there are new members all the time wanting high end chips making it even harder to find them.

Regrets? Not quite sure what that means.

Selling chips??? Who would do something like that? Don't we know how hard it is to find chips to buy in quantity? Selling something like a fine chips set is a job for my executor after I am dead, not something I might do now.

Easy problem to solve. Never sell, only buy.

Trust me, I know what I am talking about. I am a doctor -=- DrStrange

:D
Soapy Smith Tournament set.

:( Do you want them back? It is now a single table set though as I pillaged a rack of the black and green chips for the cash game sets. But there are plenty of T1,000 and T5,000 chips to make it a deep stack game now :D

Best I can do for a pic a pic at the moment.

I hardly sell so I don't regret.

The closest set would be King's Crown spotted tourney...sold it and then bought another one back few months later. I couldn't stand the empty space on the shelf.

I'm pretty new to this

Current inventory:

1) Paulson mixed casino cash set - about 800 chips
2) BCC fun nite Tourney set - about 800 chips
3) Micro cash Paulson fan of cards - about 400 chips
4) Chipco mixed casino cash set - in progress - about 300 chips
5) Grand Casino Gulfport cash - perfect for heads up - full set will always be in progress - about 180 chips

Regrets
1) Horseshoe Cleveland cash and tourney set - over 1,000 chips - the only regret is that I've sold the biggest set I've owned so far. And I kinda loved the $1's

Only when your ready to sell them. Didn't mean to guilt you into getting them back. Just joining in on the thread.

I purchased SidePot Archetypes at the same time the Proteges were available. The thing that swayed my decision was that the Protege $1000 were sold out and Sidepot didn't know when they would have them back in stock. Stupid...stupid...stupid...decision.

Isn't that just "the chip closet"? :sneaky:
Well, it was for a long, long time. Like Larry, I've actually unloaded a bunch of chips lately -- about 15,000 chips in the past 18 months or so, with probably another 10K up for sale in the next six months.

Initial goal was to get the total below 15,000 -- but I've found that selling isn't a very effective way to downsize unless one also stops buying chips.....

Regrets? Lots! -

PNY Cash set
PNY Tournament
1500 Paulson Sahara solids
ASM Rounders horse heads
ASM WSOP Replicas
Samurai palace cash set
TRK Blank solids
1000 NCV Pharaohs
600 Pharaohs tournament chips
Bahamia cash set

Mostly sold to fund the next set(s) although a few also went to fund the expanding family.

Currently:
ASM Cash set
CPC Tournament
Cleveland horseshoes limit set
Paulson Sahara ncv solids
Boardwalks Tournament

I'm gonna add another vote for PCA secondaries. I had 800. Most of all I just really miss the 25c hotstamped yellows from the apache group guy and $25 chips. Sad times

Same here. I had over 4k PCA sec a month ago, but just enjoy buying and selling too much. I can always find something i can live without less than something i currently have :(

I'm finding that my biggest regrets are the chips I didn't buy when I had the chance rather than the selling of chips I once owned... kicking myself on a few missed opportunities... maybe this is a theme for another thread...
