This might have been my first, but frankly I'm surprised. And I can't be the only one.

I dreamt last night that I had taken delivery of my next CPC set and was giddy to open everything up and bathe in my new chips. Except when I opened the box, there was something wrong with the edgespots.

They were the right colors. They were the right patterns. There were no splits. BUT none of the edgespots were actually visible on the edges! They were visible on the face of the chip, but when you looked at stacks, all the chips looked like solids. I checked every chip and every single one had the same problem.

I was heartbroken. $7k down the drain. Thankfully I woke up.

But you guys have to have had some kind of chip-related nightmares, right? Am I alone?

Oh you're talking about nightmares you wake up from. [emoji22]

Carry on...

Just so no one gets the wrong idea, the above nightmare chips are from ASM Vegas when it was under the control of the infamous Dr. Ott. Thankfully CPC is now in the capable hands of Professors Spragg and Blanchard.

QFT. Thanks, Jack, I should have made that clear.

I did have some apprehensive dreams when waiting on BCC Suicide King tourney set, but it ended happily.

The only thing that would have made this better would be a flashlight around a campfire at night.

Then I'd have soiled my trousers.

Ever called Comcast about problems with On-Demand?

"I'm sorry Mr. Butler, but your edgespots are a complimentary service and are not guaranteed."

I actually had a dream last night that my horrible session from earlier in the evening (stuck 200) turned around and I noticed a couple purple chips and a few 100 chips in my stack. Woot! Wait? woke up, I was dreaming. Sh!t!!!! Yup, still stuck from my RL session from last night.

No nightmares yet...but I've been agonizing over my to-be set of customs so hard that I dream about chips regularly...nothing interesting that I can remember, just colors...so many colors.

whats the story behind those Club Courage chips? Is that how they shipped them? Were they remade or refunded?

ASM Vegas and Red Ott was the story behind those. Dark days for the custom chip market. I don't think Chris ever really got indemnified for that travesty.

lol, love all the hilarious posts, but apologies to Jack for derailing the thread!

Max, the short answer is I was never made whole. Some chips were remade twice (hundos) and were meh/ok. The lil green deuces were never remade. I filed complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and Dicktor Ott and I exchanged some surreal emails and voicemails. When the ASM-Vegas ship was about to sink, I took the advice of a couple of smart people here and requested merchandise (cases, etc). Never got a reply but got a big box of stuff one day. The contents were nowhere close in compensation value and I would much rather have had a refund or the chips, but it was something.

Yepp. It's the agony of considering that possible off-loading....

Gotcha. Makes sense. I guess I'm lucky in that it has never bothered me to sell stuff off to get other stuff. I'm like the opposite of a hoarder. I love thinning the herd whether it be chips, guitars, books, records, whatever.
