Just rolling an idea around in my head. I have been thinking about the almost universal advice that people looking to buy a set of chips should GET SAMPLES FIRST. I know I bought about a dozen different samples to the tune of a couple hundred dollars at a couple different points in time. And maybe I am entirely too trusting, but I thought it would be a very useful resource for those making their first foray into buying chips on a budget, if they could just borrow samples of a variety of chip brands for little or no cost to determine what they like or don't like and then return them. I don't know that this concept works when you get to CPC or Paulson's because the samples simply have too much value and frankly, if you are going to spend that much on chips, you can afford to buy samples and should do so to protect your investment. So I was thinking about taking all the samples of less expensive brands including group buy samples, that I bought when I was figuring out what to buy and fleshing out the ones I don't have and then offering to lend (or charge some nominal cost, like $10) for the whole variety of samples to new buyers for the cost of shipping and the promise to ship them back within 30 days. Am I out of my mind or undercutting anyone's business model to a problem degree? I welcome your thoughts.
