I keep reading that one of the qualities for a good chip is the ability to create big stacks without them falling over (i.e. consistent surfaces, no spinners etc).

So how many are considered a good stack? And what # would be a great stack?

The reason I ask is because I pulled out my el cheapo Ace King suited chips this evening, and I can easily stack 50+ chips (I stopped at 50, could have been a lot more, I'll test them properly next time).

Granted these are the only chips Ive owned, so I have nothing to compare them against, but I really like them, a lot. If they had inlays with denoms, they would be perfect and I wouldnt think of spending more $$$. These chips are great bang for your buck, but their downfall IMO is no denom.

Anyone ever tried stickers on these types of chips? Without the inlay, does the sticker just add height and feel cheap? I guess you wouldnt be able to stack them as high anymore with a sticker and it would probably catch on your fingernail etc?

Anyway, just curious. I really like these chips but need denoms.

I cannot even phantom how you question if a label (15¢ per label, 30¢ per chip) makes your 15¢ plastic chip feel cheap.

I found a home label kit on Amazon. That's what I was referring to. Comes to 5c / chip.

It is truly astonishing that you have been on this site for two months, have racked up almost 600 posts, and still need to be told why this is maybe the dumbest idea conceivable.

Damn you, Jack... stole my exact thoughts.

So you've collected zero samples over the last two months yet still talking out your ass about what's best. Go to Apache, buy Casino Monaco chips for 15c/each, or start a thread about how expensive they are. Denoms. Perfection.

Nope, you're the first to think of it. Did you mean unicorn stickers from a cereal box?

Both the Majestics and Milanos are out of stock until mid-July (and who knows if there will be another delay, it was already pushed back once). I was hoping to make use of my existing chips (which I like) in the interim, but clearly this question should not be directed towards mean girls with too much bling :) :) :)

Delete this thread!

Oh and TY to Rob for actually answering the question.

I got stickers once, when i was like 7 at the dentist office.

buy some samples! theyre your friend

... and there's more than one aspect to stackability.

Building the stack is one thing; keeping the stack stable while you play is another. So stability, as in surface friction or slipperiness, matters too.

Ya, and your mannerisms factor in too... I give off horrible tells when I have a nice hand. So hard to keep chips stacked when you do THIS every time I get pocket aces!
