Wanted Christy & Jones red chips (2 Viewers)

I'm looking for about a rack of red Christy & Jones (C&J) chips in the best condition I can get.

Ideally they'd be spotted 314, but I'd look at solids too!

e.g.
Goose Lake Music Festival
National Casino Calgary $1 (although these tend to be a little more used?)

Super interesting! I saw a quantity of Goose Lake Music Festival chips on eBay (I think) probably somewhere between 2-5 years ago. I seem to remember they were a pretty good price for LCVs, too. However, I ultimately decided to pass because I didn’t really have a need for them.

Did you get them by chance (I hope)?

Do you know for a fact that the Goose Lake Music Festival chips were actually made by Christy & Jones?

GLMF was supposedly in 1970, about five years after C&J ceased operations in 1965, though I suppose GLMF could have had them hot stamped on new old stock blanks.


Sorry, but I don’t have any GLMF chips, and I looked through my rack of Canadian singles, and no luck on National Casino Calgary $1s, either.

Best I can do is yellow, burnt orange, and green C&J. (Someone insert their favorite Pawn Stars meme.)

Yes, as best I can without seeing an actual bill of sale from C&J

* LCV mold - check
* shiny hats - check
* slightly larger diameter - check
* slightly harder feeling - check
* sound the same as other "known" C&J chips - check

Basically if these aren't C&J, then I don't know what chips are C&J.
