Is it easy to clean dirty poker chips? What's the best way to do it? Any special options other than just soap and water?

I cleaned and oiled over 1,000 Garden City’s with warm water, Dawn and a toothbrush. It’s a PITA, an ultra sonic might have been easier??? Meh, my hands uncramped about a week later o_O!

Don't bother to get an ultrasonic unless you plan to clean hundreds and hundreds and thousands of chips on a fairly regular basis - not worth the cost. if you've got just a few hundred, hand cleaning is best and most economical.

I estimate I've cleaned somewhere between 15 and 20 thousand chips in the last 6 months, so the ultrasonic was very handy!

I cleaned 320 Paulsons today. 1/4 scoop of OxyClean into 4 cups of the hottest tap water. Let the chips soak for 5 minutes or so, then hit them with a cheap battery operated kids electric toothbrush. After doing obverse/reverse on ten chips, hold them in a barrel and do the rolling edge. You can do 100 chips in like 30 minutes.

Halfway through you may want to microwave the water temp back up. And change out the water after a rack...

Here's the worst chip I did today. Pre-soak:

After a soaking:

And 30 seconds later:

All in a day's work...

I have an ultrasonic and I won’t even get it out for less than 500 chips. Either I’ll clean by hand or just wait until there’s a batch greater than 500 needing cleaning... I.e. I got more dirty chips.
