I don’t like using my cash chips for tourneys. The idea of a T5 tourney seems meh and also I don’t have enough $1ks, $5ks and such to make it “fun”.

Even the simple $ tilts me for tourney chips lol

However I do have lots of cash chips and racks of $100s and such. So my game can stretch big for cash standards…

Tonight we r doing a tournament but it could end up being a bit short handed. 6-8 players.

Came up with this idea…

Early nickname “Becoming a Pro”

The premise is you start w $5k in chips “your bankroll”

Levels start at $1-$2 NL
Then $2-$5 NL
$10-$20 LIMIT
Then $5-$10 NL
$5-$5-$10 PLO
Then $5-$10-$25 NL
Then $25-$25 PLO
Then $50-$100 NL
Then $100-$200 NL
Then $100-$200-$500 Round by Round

Winner take all

Blinds go up as you continue to go up “in stakes”

Rather than a perfect blind structure I picked the common stakes of cash games…

If you get knocked out, you can do one rebuy, a.k.a. running the trucks for Knish. Need to figure out what I can do that’s unique. Maybe rebuy is only $4k?

Think I’m gonna add a level of blackjack too lol what poker pro doesn’t try a few hands of blackjack

sounds fun, but needs a "must bet entire bankroll on red or black" roulette round somewhere around the halfway mark.

Excel doesn't copy and past well. Edited and reposted below.

It's 2001 and your entire bankroll took a hit thanks to the dot.com bubble. eToy.com and Books-A-Million.com were no-brainers (so you thought) but the straw that broke the camel's back was your Enron investment.

Rent is due, and you are going to have to skip town. Thankfully you can always get a few nights at the Dunes thanks to your host.

You arrive in Vegas with a $5K bankroll. Start at the low stakes and work your way up. But be careful! Avoid common bankroll mismanagement and the high end escorts!

BUY IN: $5K. It's everything you got. Don't forget to tip your host $120 for the room.
REBUY: Go Broke? Caddy for a few weeks and earn yourself another $5K bankroll. Tip out the caddy pro, $120.

I mistakenly thought the Dunes was still around in 2001, hence the storyline picking up then.

Maybe toss in a 1 time all in roulette wheel spin. At any time during the tournament a player can bet their entire stack (not some of it) on any roulette table option.
We did wheel spins as bomb pots for Holdem hands lol. I have a wheel as well. It's not roulette but close enough lol.
