Hi All,

I am thrilled to announce the beta release of my brand-new mobile app, club.pkr, now available for both Android and iOS users!

What is club.pkr?
Way more than just a messaging app for poker club members, it is also a poker club management app. This app is designed to simplify the lives of poker enthusiasts by offering tools for club organization, event scheduling, and seamless communication.

What is club.pkr | PRO?
club.pkr | Pro offers a more streamlined and practical way to manage your club. It includes all the features currently available in the app — plus more!

New capabilities include sending event invitations via e-mail or sms, along with additional enhancements to improve your club management experience.

Note - club.pkr | PRO can only be accessed by club owners and their administrators.

By joining our beta testing program, you’ll get early access to the app’s latest features and the opportunity to help shape its development. Your feedback will play a crucial role in making the app the best it can be.

  • How do I create a new club?
    1. From the Clubs screen, click on the create a new club icon.
    2. Enter the Club Name and Description. Then select the Preferred Games and Stakes
      • Note - The Preferred Games and Stakes fields are currently mandatory. These will become optional at a later date.
    3. Select one or more members to join the club
      • Note - If this section of the screen is blank, it means you currently have no contacts with a club.pkr account. all potential members must already have a club.pkr account setup, and should be setup as contacts on your phone. A revised method of adding members is being drawn up.
    4. Click on the Save button - New club created.
  • Does the app still require access to my phone's contact list?
    • No, the app no longer requires access to a phone's contact list.

A test account (using a fake number) has been set up. You can add it to your phone's contacts, allowing you to select it when creating a new club from within the app.

New Build - Payout Cards

Hi All, I hope all is well.

The new build of the mobile app is on route. I hope to make it available for download between now and Tuesday.

Here is what to expect:
  • App no longer requires access to your contacts list.
  • Adding new club members - Send club invitations using email addresses. Recipients with no club.pkr account will receive notification of the club invite via email.
  • Player Payout Cards - Keep track of player buy-in to determine how much a player is owed or owes following the completion of a cash or tournament event.
  • Payout Report Card - Review summary of all Player Payout Cards. This screen is only available for admins and those who took part in the related event.
  • Complete Events - Manually mark an event as complete.
  • Tournament Events - Blinds and Breaks are now optional. These attributes will be removed at a later date
Known Bugs:
  • Some field names and descriptions need to be corrected
  • Event date and times are sometimes stored incorrectly
  • Still need to invite at least one new member when creating a club.

club.pkr | PRO
club.pkr | PRO is the web-based version of the mobile app. Exclusive to club admins and hosts, the Pro version of the app delivers a more streamlined user experience, along with additional features not available in the mobile app. A detailed breakdown of these features will be unveiled at a later date.

Another day, another update!

The last version of the app is now available download on Android. I hope to have the iOS version available soon.

Release Notes:
  • New Features:
    • Club administrators now have the ability to record player buy-ins and payouts.
    • Added the option to update the status of active sessions / events. Status options include: *Upcoming > Active > Complete*
  • Enhancements:
    • Improved club member invitation system.
    • Updated app registration process.
  • The app no longer requires access to your contacts list.
  • General Improvements: Various bug fixes to enhance performance and user experience.

Known Issues:
- During club creation, the process still requires sending at least one club invitation.
- On the Player Payout Card, the "Owed Amount" displays as 0.00 when the "In For" amount equals the "Out For" amount.
- Able to send multiple club invitations to the same recipient

I installed the app but ran into an issue when I tried to create a group to test with. I sent feedback in the app.

Just responded to your email, and have updated the original post.

Note - Like WhatsApp, all users must have an account setup to join and participate in clubs.
 
Gentle reminder - The app is still in beta so dont be surprised if it feels a little rough around the edges and somewhat buggy. I'll update you all, within the next few days, with a list of upcoming features and bug fixes!

Quick Update

The Turn update will hopefully be available for download before the end of this week. This update will unlock the option to schedule and manage tournaments.

Other features included in this update:
  • Manually add new attendees/players to a scheduled cash or tournament event
  • Remove attendees/players from a scheduled cash of tournament event
  • Minor bug fixes

I have an idea that I would like to run by you all too, I'll go into more detail after the release of the next update.
 
Looks nice, but idk if I'll be able to convince all my players to sign up for something like this so the ability to add people who aren't already a part of the app to your club for email/sms notifications would be super helpful.

Also/alternately the ability to make a club with only yourself in it that you can configure and then eventually add people to would be nice. As is all I can do is look at the UI and dream until I get some of my players on the app itself.

I think so, possibly in addition to the app. It lowers the barrier of entry for first time usage (no app download, no sign up). Later, they can be funnelled into sign up/app download with some sort of incentive structure.

I was thinking from the perspective of a host / club owner, it could potentially be easier to manage clubs and events via a browser / computer. Definitely one to think about for the future. Thanks.

The River Update

Thanks again to all those that have reviewed and/or provided feedback and suggestions, I really do appreciate it.
Here is what to expect from the next update:
  • Revised account creation process - Users will no longer need to provide a mobile number.
  • Revised club invitation process - The app will no longer require access to your phone's contact list. Instead, club admins will be required to provide one or more e-mail addresses - Only those with a club.pkr account will receive the invite notification.
  • New event invitation option - Club admins will have the option to send event invitations to Guests i.e those that don't have a club.pkr account.

  • Introduction of Session and Player Payout Cards - Payout Cards are used to track the following per session:
    • How much a player owes following the completion of a session
    • How much a player is owed following the completion of a session
    • A players total buy-in for a session

This is a fairly big update so I may end up splitting it up into multiple parts... We'll see.

Following this update work will begin on introducing a friendly colour palette!
