I'm just gonna say it. I love Canadian Wings fans. Refreshing to not have HNIC Make Beliefs fans as far as the eye can see.

Sad to break this to you, @Farcry44 (I know you know this), but even if JT was on the move, he wouldn't be coming to Detroit. With the longterm deals they dished out a decade ago to Zetterberg plus the ridiculous money we spent on DeKeyser (what is he up to? 3 points on the season?), Ericsson, Abdelkader and Helm, we have to have the worst cap situation of any NHL franchise. And then we go to war with a guy like AA not because we don't want to pay him what he's worth, but because we *can't* pay him what he's worth. I'd be happy to ink Larkin, Mantha and AA to 4-5 year deals.

I'm surrounded by Leaf fans 90% of the time, it's disgusting. Especially being in London, and them having Marner play for them. Yeah, some pretty bad contracts in Detroit right now. Green, Mrazek (hopefully), will be dealt at the deadline. Kronwall/Ericsson's contracts will be coming off the books soon. I wouldn't be shocked if Athanasiou is dealt in some sort of package deal. He forced a trade out of London in Juniors, then the hold out this season, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. (I love the kid, but ugh). Build around Larkin, Mantha and (hopefully) AA. Get the number one pick this draft and get Dahlin and we're good to go!

Athanasiou was born in London? Didn't know that. I didn't hear anything about him forcing the trade to Barrie (or out of London), just that it happened. I couldn't really fault him for the holdout this year, he is underpaid and deserves more money. I'm just glad he came back. Dude is a stud.

Not sure if he was born in London. But he did play here, and yeah requested a trade. His contract is on par with other players with similar numbers/games played. I’m happy with the way Holland didn’t bend over and let AA walk over him. His contract would affect Mantha/Larkins next contract too. Trickle down effect. No FSD lol. I just stream most of the games off Reddit.
