Or you could buy four,1000-chip sets of CPC customs for the same price. I love supply and demand and non-rational people! Dolla-dolla-bill-y'all!

You've never shuffled a stack of $100 CP's obviously.
While the price may seem high, as hard house has historically reached for the stars in his sales pricing, I have to defend him that he can ask whatever he wants for this very rare assembly of high denoms. There are some high end collectors who are happy to see that another collector is willing to sell. Maybe hard house is fishing for negotiations, but asking high when he may very well not care about selling is just fine IMO.
We were playing a tourney with oversized Garden City $500 and $1000 last night, it is a lot of fun shuffling stacks of 43mm Paulsons, and the high denom $100+ Crystal Parks are 43mm. Geno had a barrel of the $5000s which are 48mm and are just ridiculously awesome. Worth $200? To me no, But really cool.Correct but I wonder how much different can the CP TH&C chips be from the bevy of other Paulson TH&C chips out there, shuffling-wise? I've only had a handful of Paulson sets and I'm not a big shuffler, but I haven't noticed a huge difference in how they handle or sound. Was this a particularly good/different batch of clay that made them? Or, is it a visual thing?
This wasn't a criticism of the seller asking high dollar, quite the opposite, actually - he can ask whatever he wants for his product. Rather, it was about the crazy chip market and the people willing to pay that amount for that product. I get it, high end collectors with lots of disposable income wanting something rare - go with your good selves and get the thing you love. I just don't see the rationality of $20/chip with the other, significantly less expensive options out there. But, I know there are people out there that pay that due to the scarcity and I love the craziness that is the poker chip market!
