Hey Folks - I recently got some RPC $5s that had never been put in play, and they appear to have some dark spots/stains ingrained in the clay. Pics below. Has anyone encountered this before, and if so, any fixes that would remedy the discoloration?

Hard to say, but kinda looks like grease stains..? Maybe try a quick hand wash with some dawn and see if that cleans it up.

Kinda weird if they’ve never been felted though. So again, hard to say.

Yeah I hear ya. I trust the seller saying they’ve never been felted. And you can see the stain is under the inlay (which has since been removed). Seems like it would be hard to get a grease stain underneath the inlay from regular table use.

Yeah, that makes sense.

As the wise man said “he who goes to bed with itchy bum wakes up with stinky finger” he also taught “he who owns hot dog roller ends up with greasy chips”
