I am sure there is abunch of stuff out there for this but figure I will ask real quick anyways

for anyone who uses Dawn Dishsoap or any other Dishsoap for that matter tp hand clean their chips

what kind do you use ? and whats the ratio you use to presoak them before hand scrubbing them ?

any info would be awesome thanks

I use just the standard blue Dawn, squeeze the bottle hard once for maybe a gallon of water. Not a ton of Dawn added.

I also use lukewarm water, warm at best. Soak for 5-10 minutes. Change out the water when it gets too dirty, or if you see too much color transfer in the water it might be too hot. Definitely expect to lose a little color either way during soaking/scrubbing, especially in red chips.

If they’re really disgustingly bad you could increase either of those, but I’ve never needed to add a ton. The soak just loosens any dirt, the scrubbing takes it off.

Stay away from the antibacterial. Has bleach components that can mess with your colors, especially as mentioned above with higher test.
I use Palmolive. Madge recommends it and it’s easy on your hands.

Palmolive that sounds like a plan its cheaper too lol

Dies great for washing cars too. Just don’t let it dry, rinse it well.
I believe dish soap will strip any wax off the car. It’s great for if you want to reapply a fresh coat of wax/coating.

I use gloves when cleaning the chips

which Palmolive do you use ? that wont mess with the chips coloring

I think part of it is realizing that the water is the solvent, the soaps just help it work. If you get too much soap it doesn’t work as well.

20 in a red solo cup with warm water and a squirt of dawn. Let sit for 2 mins. Start pulling them out 1 by 1 and scrub with magic eraser (with a small spot of dawn), rinse off, then let dry. All clean. Never had a problem.

Since then I have moved on to the ultrasonic. Much faster process.

Everybody says Dawn. I’ve used it too. What nobody says is WHICH Dawn. There are like 12 variety’s with a variety of additives.

I steer clear of any anti-bacterials. While it seems like a great idea, I think most of those are caustic or acidic or bleachs and the ph can fuck with some chips - especially in large quantities!!
