Hey guys -- need some help on a frac. relabel project. Here is some background context (or just skip to the photos below and tell me if you like the "Egyptian Room" or Colorado Belle).

The Paulson Pharaohs were what initially caught my eye and turned me on to this hobby. My first set was a Pharaoh China Clay cash set and I fell in love with the $1 chip in that set (hence, my username). I've now been collecting Paulsons and building a tourney and cash set for the last 3 or 4 months and have assembled a THC (for $0.25, $0.50 and $1 denoms) and house mold (for the $5, $25 and $100 denoms) mixed cash set, in addition to a Paulson Pharaoh tournament set. I love the mixed set (pr0n to come once I finalize flattening some of the warped chips and get everything through the ultrasonic bath :) ). In addition to the chip maintenance, I also still need to relabel what I've selected for my $0.25 chip, the current white THC $1 Palazzo. @Gear has been incredibly helpful in the design process, but wanted to flip this to the group for some feedback.

I initially targeted the white Palazzo's because I liked the idea of having my fracs as tribute to my favorite fantasy sets, the Pharaohs and the Le Coves (I've accumulated 150 Le Coves 50 cent chips in what will be a life long quest to actually build a Le Cove set if I get lucky, else would have just gone with a 25 cent chip, which I need for our lower stakes games). The Palazzo $1 edge spots do not look too dissimilar to the Pharaoh $1's china clays and so I initially thought it would be cool to pay tribute to my favorite chip with a comparable inlay design to the Pharaoh $1, which @Gear helped me create (the "Egyptian Room"... see below). I had also tried to thrown out a line to Greg Cagle to see if there's any chance I could pay a fee to use his art work, but do not have high hopes that will be successful. The other option I am considering is just matching the $1 with a Colorado Belle inlay replica with a 25 cent logo. See below a mock-up using the $25 Colorado Belle. I know this flies in the face of a lot of people's views of what a "mixed set" should be, but I'm okay with it because: 1) most of the chips on the table will be these 25 cent frac and the $1 anyway, so it'd be kind of cool to have a "Colorado Belle" set and 2) overtime I may get lucky and accumulate some $5 and $25 1980 Colorado Belles and this could lend to a cool 1980 THC Colorado Belle "set" (although maybe I get REALLY lucky and find some yellow Belle fracs someday...)

So which one do you guys prefer?

Thanks so much for your consideration!

Mocked up side by side (props to @Gear for the Egyptian design.. and apologies for my cheapo powerpoint skills for the Colorado Belle...)

To keep with what most peoples rules about mixed sets (there are actually no rules for mixed sets, do what you like), I'd go with the Egyptian. Most people would say not to mix house molds and THC molds as well. IMO nothing wrong with your choice, my only question would be having both a 25c & a.50c chip in the same set but the LeCove .50c is such a pretty chip and "moar chips" is always better.

But the Colorado Belle .25c would be a good start to a Colorado Belle set in the future, do both. (y)

Definitely a big subscriber to the moar chapes philosophy!

Obv answer is relabel the pink chips as quarters since .50 chips are dumb. :)

Those would be freaking awesome quarters.

Ha, thought about this... and then figured I'd be crucified for destroying the Le Coves. Maybe I'll have to go procure some Horseshoe $500s or the Mexicana Casino 50s...

Ah - HA! YOU were the one who bought out all those sweet Colorado Belles from Spinettis before I could get to em. :p Great to see that they ended up in a good PCF home!

My vote is for a Colorado Belle set... Palazzos as the frac and Le Cove as the $5. There are already enough Egyptian-themed sets out there.

So sorry! I discovered these thinking I was building a sundance set, but Miko ended up only having 50 or so of the Sundance $1’s in mint with the rest in super used condition. It was a blessing it disguise, because I love these Belle’s. If I ever get sick of them (I doubt it :p) I’ll look your way first. The flattening project has been a ride, but I now have about 160 stacked solidly with still 100+ to go.

While I was waffle-ating too long on those Colorado Belles, I was doing my own cheepo PowerPoint mockups. Here's a rough Colorado Belle logo I was using that you might find useful...

Wow that’s awesome. I don’t think I can bring myself to doing that to the Le Coves. I’d probably try and find some of the 1980 $5s or a chip color combo that looks similar first that could be relabeled. That does look pretty sweet tho! Thanks again. @Gear in case it helps our cause @BSteck has been too kind.

I know the original CB has the denom printed right over the whole logo, but wouldn't it look nicer with a small denom just under the logo? If you're going to the trouble of doing a relabel, why not redesign them all?

Interesting, something to play around with. I kind of like the large denom water marked look but worth a shot.
