We all know and love Facebook marketplace do we not?
Went to go check out a decent looking table (on the surface) when i arrived to go check it out it was in a little worse condition than initially anticipated.
To start, there where many cigarette burns in the top layer, looks like the the cupholders where used as ash trays, some small tears in the rail vinyl. All in all not amazingly looked after, however got the seller to reduce the price from £60 down to £30 once I had highlighted the problems
The table itself was really well made and incredibly solid and sturdy. So reckon i managed to get a good £300/£400 worth of table for cheap deal.
When i took it home i decided id opt for a full re-felt. Being a complete beginner in this field i anticipated needing to fully refoam the table.
In an ideal world a full custom Degens Palace felt would be ideal however to an upcoming trip to the states and poker game i was set to host just around the corner I opted to go for suited speed cloth as a temporary measure until finances and time allowed for a custom felt to be produced.
Ordered the speed cloth and some 1/4’’ closed cell last week however getting a call from the supplier they informed me they could no longer supply the size i needed and would be refunded.
At this point id stripped the old felt off and the underlay was in surprisingly good condition so opted to keep it.
Overall very happy with job for someone who has no experience in upholstery.
