So... I received a batch of Milano chips today (Withholding the store name in case I am dead wrong)

Previous to buying these, I received a few samples from another, more 'mainstream' store... I'll call this the control group.
I realize that chips can vary batch to batch, but here are my observations and worries:
Control Group- Average chip weight 9.3 grams Worrisome Milanos: Average chip weight 8.1grams
Control Group- Distinct 'China Clay' scent Worrisome Milanos: No real scent, or VERY light... not noticable
Control Group- The expected 'dusty'/faded look Worrisome Milanos: Robust and Vibrant
Control Group-Denomination Font is Brown/Black Worrisome Milanos: Denomination Font is Solid Black

Could this just be that the manufacturing has shifted and this is how they come out now, or is there a little too much going on here?

Faked Milano had been in the market (At least in the Asia scene) for several years which I mentioned a few times before but there always seems to have a few doubters who only reason is why will someone do faked Milano.

AFAIK, the original Milano production line no longer exist.

They are Faked as in they used a cheaper material with a slight different colour too (might be due to the material involved that they cant match the original colour) plus a poorer QC compared to the original.

I got some faked milanos before which have even worse Label and Chip Edging QC

It looks like the "suspect" ones are shrink wrapped in plastic! Will the plastic wrapping come off, and what does it look like underneath?

Is that a nickel or a fifty cent chip?

Do people think there is just one large factory named “China” that dirt and rocks and trees are pushed into one end and every product in the world comes out the other?
Like everyone in china works at this one big factory, and they are all involved in each others products?

Maybe when they were making these they ran out of dye so they just used the grey paint they were using when they assembled Acura’s or something.

I didnt want to open any more. The colors you see in the plastic are accurate... they are darker and more robust than the 'standard' ones, and the standard ones had been oiled.

Right?
This is the second time in a week that I’ve heard about “fake milanos.” But the truth is that milanos were always so inconsistent that who could have ever identified any “real” ones? They’re cheap chips made from garbage (maybe literally) materials that have never ever been consistent. We’re talking about chips that on their best day, weren’t even round. That’s what you’re getting when you buy Milanos.

Wow, sus is right! I have a set that has the same shades of color as your control. I would assume that Milanos are still available on Claysmith's channels?
