I was thinking of small frames to display my samples and wanted something that lets me see both sides of my chips.

I've made some prototypes but I'm quite satisfied of the result.

Here's what I've used (sorry links to buy it are french but it gives an idea) :

- 3 mm foam board : https://www.amazon.fr/Lot-Carton-Mousse-3mm-Noir/dp/B00MEL5KOY/

- Custom Plexiglass : http://www.plastiquesurmesure.com/personnalisation?add=1&id=206

- Scrapbooking screw and posts 6mm : https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B015A3EHPU/

- Tools : Circle Cutter, X-Acto, Cutting board, Drill

1 - I've ordered custom plexiglass (180mm x 110mm) and drill a hole in each corner

2 - Cut the foam boards the same size (180mm x 110mm), and do holes the size of the chips with the circle cutter.

3 - Put the chips in the holes

4 - Make a sandwich, then join it with the screws. Et voilà !

Others on the way ...

I still need something to hang them on the wall. Maybe I'll drill one more hole or test something adhesive like this :

The size 180mm x 110mm is perfect for 4, 5 or 6 chips samples.

For bigger samples I'll try :

180mm x 160mm for 7, 8 or 9 chips
180mm x 210mm for 10, 11, 12 maybe 13

The cost is about 7 / 8 dollars per frame, probably less if you order the material for more frame at once.

All comments are welcome ;)

Great idea!

Maybe just attach a piece of plate/picture rail (with a slot for your displays to sit in) to the wall so you can easily view both sides.

Great idea. Just need a rotating carousel so that everyone can see both sides.

I'm wondering if he could hinge mount them to his wall (kind of like what you do when you try to hide breaker boxes or electrical panels behind a picture). That way, he could show whatever side he wanted, and they'd still be hanging as a display piece.

Is there some type of wall mounted - ball joint set-up that lets you rotate the frame?
