Just curious. What percentage of casinos use clay compared to ceramic chips?

Depends where you are in the world.

Traditionally, European and Asian casinos have used plastic, though to be fair they are the higher end of plastic quality e.g. Bourgogne et Grasset, Abbiati, Matsui.

North American casinos most often use clay. There has been a slow but noticeably consistent shift toward ceramics and the odd plastics, but it is still quite a small proportion.

In ten years (max), the question will be ceramics vs plastics, world-wide. Only a few hard-core Vegas hold-outs will stil be ordering new clays.

Who knows? In our lifetime maybe all table games will go electronic and cash value chips will be gone. (shudder)

Dealers/Croupiers/etc... will definitely be AI in the near future, perhaps some of those new Tesla bots will come in a Casino model.

It seems all of the casinos I have visited in Ontario Canada over the last 2 decades are mostly plastic.

By clay, do you mean China Clay?
