Do worn RHC chips feel plasticky? (1 Viewer)

I'm sitting here playing with a stack of Terribles St. Joes $1's, which are pretty much mint, and a stack of Cleveland Horseshoes $5's, which are casino worn, and they don't even seem like the same chip. They feel different, they sound different, but they actually feel like they're made of different materials. The worn horseshoes feel more plasticky.
Am I crazy?

They will feel and sound a little different because they weigh less and the shape has changed if they're worn.

Also, if they haven't been cleaned, used chips can feel a bit plasticky until you wash the gunk off... but they'll still feel smoother because of being worn.

I came out with a half dozen nearly mint fives and they feel different from the worn ones, even once cleaned.

I, too, suspect it's more a function of wear than the mold.

First, lets get this clear - I'm not a savage, so I wouldn't be sitting around my house, playing with those chips if they were still casino-filthy. Ew.

It's definitely a function of wear, but I wonder if the wear just wears differently on this mold. Because I have worn THC molds, and they don't feel plasticky.
I know it doesn't make sense, but that's how it feels.
And this isn't the first time I've noticed it either.
There's a casino near me, Twin Rivers, that has Paulson RHC molds with giant inays. And they're fairly worn. First time I went there, I had a rudimentary knowledge of chips, but I didn't know very much. I played with the chips for a few hours, I they looked and felt like plastic chips, but I took one home anyway. And then I later learned that yeah, those are paulsons.

I have some Super Worn Chips Casino $1's , and I know what the OP means.
The chips are worn very , very ( very ) smooth, (and cleaned) and they feel much more like plastic than any other Paulson's.

I agree, worn RHC chips are very much not my favorite. Oddly, I've also noticed for some reason the formulation for most of the $5s/ red chips (Empress, Point Defiance, Nevada Hotel, Silver Palace etc) I've had feel and sound a little more plastickyd/different than any other color THC chips, and have been a little lighter usually, not sure if this is an anomaly or not.
