Seller was/is asking $1000 for a "$1000" poker chip.

Naturally, I educated him on the history of Borland chips and provided this link: http://www.antiquegamblingchips.com/Borland.htm

All in a day's work...

Update/reply from the seller: "Incorrect, it's a original, I got it from a dealer who collected chips."

Oh brother...

I feel like the date is pretty obvious that you cant cash it in anymore lol but I say let em have fun getting random messages from people asking him why he thinks that chip is worth $1000 and informing him that hes an idiot

I sometimes message the sellers who have 0 reviews and are selling the “$10,000 Official Money Chip”. Pretty amusing what they come up with. My favorite was a person who was looking to get $1,000 for one and said “my brother got it in Las Vegas and gave it to me for my birthday”. He struggled to explain why he thought it was ok to basically throw away $9,000 of a $10,000 gift though  :ROFLMAO:

I’ve noticed anyone selling them never admits to actually getting the chip at the casino themself though. Always they found it or got it from someone else.

Plausible deniability.

...though not actually even plausible.

Offer to sell him a rack at $100/chip...
This is exactly the logic I use. When the black diamond Disney vhs scam was going and people were asking $500 for little mermaid, I offered to sell them 100 tapes for $50 each so they could profit 10x. Weird none took me up on it.
