I realize that I have exactly zero Paulson chips and would like to own a small set of something (anything really) but want to buy only 100-200 chips of various denominations to play maybe 3-4 people.

EDIT:

Ok, so I think I have settled on a type of Paulson I like. But before I dive in, I want to know: how many of these chips are out there: the Paulson National Poker Series and is there anyone interested in helping me build my set and what do they normally cost and where can I find them?

stakes? game? tournament? cash? which type of paulsons do you prefer? casino? home? worn? mint?

 :whistling:;)

I have a variety of colors of well used Paulson roulettes from Aztar casino.....20 cents/chip + shipping. PM if interested.
I cleaned and labeled mine for tournament set (see my avatar).

I too might be able to hook you up with some chips. The denoms are lower or are starburst but will all stand on edge.

Okay I edited the original thread and have settled on a type of Paulson I think I like: the Paulson National Poker Series.

I want to know who out there may want to part with them, is it hard to build a set of these, where can I find them, what are the costs etc.

Lay it on me brothers!

If you are looking for cheaper paulsons, you might want to look at used casino sets like Aztar or Garden City Casino, etc (some will be well used, but the prices will reflect that). You should decide what you want to pay and maybe a basic breakdown. If you really want to lock yourself into a particular chip, then you most likely need to pay the going rate to get them.
You may also consider doing a mixed set (different casino or home sets for different denominations)... it will give you more options.

Paulson National are very nice chips according to my taste.

They tend to be on the more tender or soft however than most casino chips.

In France they seemed not so popular and traded for quite an affordable amount before they run out of production and stock.

I have no idea of the numbers, but I believe there are many available out there.
These chips where specifically designed and distributed for the home game market.

I have no idea of their worth today but $75 for 25 chips seems really pricey to me.
I am pretty confident that if you are patient you can get some for less.

Good luck with your search.

We are all in this hobby together friends :)

Basically, anything you help me buy will eventually become available to our small little community when I resell for something better :)

I probably have a half-dozen or so individual chips, if interested.

I sent a PM to you ;)

Still looking. I will post what I am looking for in terms of counts once I work out the number of players I expect. I am looking for about 250 more chips spread across 5s, 25s, 100s and 500s and exactly 2 $1 chips :)

Watching you.....

Also I contacted Straight Poker Supplies and they have 500 X $1, 500 X $5 and 350 X 25$

The catch?

They are $3 a chip which is way too much IMHO.

I understand that they are not made anymore but I think I can be patient.

Straight Poker Supplies is the eBay listing for these btw.

$3 per? Yikes.

If the better-half wants to be compensated with puppies, you better open a kennel.
