"Elaine's Palace of Chance" is my most recent Townsend tribute set. As many of you know, My wife's Great Aunt Elaine Townsend owned interests in several casinos in Cuba during the 50's. I'm certain she owned a piece of the "Gran Casino Nacional", "Montmartre", and the "Jockey Club". My goal was to create chips that could have easily been used in a casino with Elaine's namesake. I used an image of Elaine from a 1948 newspaper article titled "Gambling Ladies". The beauty in this set is in its simplicity. Special thanks to J5 who designed the flawless inlay…he truly is the best! CPC produced the chips on the MD 50 which is perfect for these edge spots and this time period. Thanks David for reviving the custom chip business! I will absolutely have a blast playing with these fine chips!

Awesome, love them, the dimes are my favorite :)

Love them. This recent batch of classically styled inlays is great.

How many ASM/CPC sets is this for you now?!

You sure know how to do awesome sets. And John has once again done something spectacular. Love 'em all. After seeing this, methinks my possible CC custom tourney set will be quite simplistic. Great job :)

Always love to see another one of these sets! The chips (exp. the dime) are divine, and again the photography puts it over the top!

These chips and the other tributes you made are amazing. Your mold, spot pattern and designs instantly transport me back in time. I would love to have been around and visit Cuba pre 1960.

J5 really is the man. After all these years he continues to deliver with no sign of slowing down. He interprets dreams and ideas into the currency we all love. I could say the same thing about him without being a chip collector. What he does is really create fine art. Sometimes it's whimsical, sometimes it's a period piece like this and other times it's an idea or theme in chip form. He's not just a chip artist, he's an artist, period. What he does with the CPC palette and his customers input is incredible and he often leaves me speechless.

Congrats on another beautiful set and I tip my hat to John and CPC for yet another incredible collaboration. If you ever put together an Elaine Townsend sample set package with all of these amazing chips I, and I suspect many others, would be both honored and privileged to be able to add these to my collection.

Another home run. Your sets are truly amazing. I really like the colors and spot patterns you chose on this set. Combined with the mold (even though it's not my favorite) you have a masterpiece set. Congrats and thanks for sharing the pics!

Absolutely beautiful! Have loved watching the "trip down memory lane!" leading up to this most recent unveiling!!!
Congratulations on having such an amazing number of beautiful sets and such an amazing person in which to build your sets around!
Looking forward to the movie too![emoji41]

That purple and (bright?) white $500 is sharp.

Thank you all for the wonderful feedback! Designing a chip set from start to finish is very appealing to the creative side of my brain. I gain a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment bouncing around this site. The creativity here is phenomenal and inspirational! I'm slowly but surely trying to get more involved here.

All of my custom chips are played with--some a little more than others. In addition, I own a few retail sets and they see the felt also. I feel very fortunate to have so many choices to pick from on poker night.

Thanks PAZ! I agree with you completely about the artistic value of what we have here with this hobby. I know their are other artists on the site producing fantastic sets. I can't say enough nice things about J5's work. We have worked together on so many sets that I swear he can see what's in my minds eye. I can't draw for shit but I can see it in my mind and J5 always delivers!

Isn't that like the 5th?! We need a count, both number of sets and total number of chips. How about a dedicated thread?

I have 7 chip sets dedicated to Elaine. Some of these sets are larger than others. My goal is to have two or three of these sets in the Elaine Townsend Movie "Razzle Dazzle". I'm not sure which chip set Hollywood will like so I want to give them several to choose from. LOL! I also have a custom set dedicated to my father (Circus City) and a custom set dedicated to my career (Lucky Dog). In addition, I have 4 retail sets; Samurai Palace, Speakeasy, Mardi Gras and Deadwood.

My favorite chip in this set is the $5 but the rest of the set is a close second! I could easily see this $5 chip on Elaine's table in Havana during the 50's.

Yet another spectacular set, Lucky Dog! I like them all, but both fracs are exceptionally well done. Can you enlighten us with any other upcoming movie details?

Also, the spot-on accolades below from PAZ regarding Johnny5 warrants repeating, especially for new members considering a custom set or labels:
