So the Robobus is cool and all but check out Optimus robots. You HAVE to scroll thru the thread/replies to see some of the posts, mind blown. . .
Maybe, for sure it can pour a watermelon margarita. Can it deal?
That’s not a high bar at all, I’ve seen people at meetups do this. Actually getting it in the glass is another topic though….Maybe, for sure it can pour a watermelon margarita.
I’m drifting off topic here, but isn’t there a world where that doesn’t matter? He’s presently worth $258 billion. He pissed away $44 billion on Twitter, just to prove a point. If he really wanted to get those taxis going, couldnt he just accept the risk and personally bond that liability?Keep in mind the profound legal risks from Tesla itself being liable for damages caused by its fleet of self-driving taxis.
At the risk of touching the politics section, yes, there's a world where that won't matter because he's obscenely rich, you're right! But that's where charges and punishments outside of money come into play. We know fines aren't going to affect him.I’m drifting off topic here, but isn’t there a world where that doesn’t matter? Guys don't anger the robots. That only makes it worse.
5 million Tesla owners might disagree with you.Given Musk's / Tesla's long history of lies, I would be quite skeptical about any announcement of self-driving products. Been waiting years for full self-driving vehicles from Tesla. We find out most of the prototypes shown the last six years were fakes. Tesla even sold their high dollar customers self-driving car software which didn't work and had to refund the money.
Keep in mind the profound legal risks from Tesla itself being liable for damages caused by its fleet of self-driving taxis. Assuming they ever get regulatory approval to unleash the product on the public. And the prospects of fraud / deceptive practices cases abound if Yesterday's presser turns out to be yet another iteration of Musk's fakery.
I couldn't even imagine swallowing the lie that a sub $30,000 self-driving Tesla electric car is coming to market in less than two years. A product Tesla couldn't even show an artistic rendering of. They didn't even bother to have the design team mock something up.
Maybe Musk will finally get beyond the "hopeful bullshit" phase and actually build such vehicles. Someday, ideally before I get too old to drive safely. Or if not Tesla, maybe some other car company. I would much rather shell out some bucks for an intelligent car rather than having my kids come for my car keys you know.
