Hello, I'm from Europe and interested in buying EPT Poker Chips. I found only 2 threads on this forum and I don't have any way of verifying the sources.

From what I've gathered original EPT chips aren't for sale and there are chinese replicas that look/feel almost the same?

I saw some mixed opinions online so I decided to write this thread. Does anyone have experience with these chips and especially with Kailegame and MandyPokerChips from China?

There's barely any information on the internet about them so I don't know if they're legit. Does anyone have experience with them, is the quality of the chips as good as the original ones? Do they ship to Europe and how expensive is the shipping?

Also do they offer samples?

Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance :)!

Yes, vast majority of those that you see on here/elsewhere are cheap Chinese knockoffs of the original chip, no idea how the originals felt but they look similar and have the characteristic logo. Personally I love my EPT cheap Chinese knockoffs, but that comes with a lot of caveats. "Legit" is a funny word; you'll get a product, but the quality can have a big range, and if you're unhappy its not like you can get a refund easily. Some can be nicer than others, and the chips may spin/warp over time. I also bought more to add-on to a set I purchased, and the colors are not quite the same.

These are good beginner chips, but not a great product, just a good cheap option. I wouldn't buy these as my only set or one that I expect to last forever, but I bought in bulk to support a 30-person tournament.

Thanks a lot. Yours look nice. I already bought a set from the official PokerStars site but they're iron and a bit bulky imo - they're quite nice but I'd like some variety.

I'll also probably get some Clay ones from Majestic or Skyline - those look reallyyy nice :)

Also how do you a play a tournament? I'm new and I've only played Cash games with friends where you enter with 10$ in chips for example and that's it?

Also why did you say those aren't a nice product? They look quite nice from the Videos I've seen?

Thanks man, I like them.

1. How we play tournaments:
Theres two types, tournament and cash. It sounds like you play a tournament style, where everyone throws money in at the beginning and you play until theres one winner or a few people splitting the money, and chips dont = dollars. In tournaments, the blind bets usually go up, too.

In cash, you can buyin for any amount and if you lose, buyin for more. Each chip directly represents money that you can leave with anytime, don't have to play until theres a winner. So I can buyin for $10 or $20, and leave after a few hours whether Im up to $65 or down to $4, doesnt matter. Tournaments, you stay and play until theres only a few left to split the money.

Chips can be very different. My cash set contains nickels and $1s, while my tournament set has chips like 25,000.

2. I say they're not a great product because youre on a website for poker chip enthusiasts, and these feel much cheaper and have less quality control than nicer chips. Honestly they keep score just fine, buy them and never look back, but there's lots of other chips that feel/sound/stack way better.

First, thanks a lot for the explanation. Second could you recommend any good chips that you know of? (Preferably available in Europe too)

This is the set I got. It's great and it came with a very high quality case/cards but as I said the chips are 14grams each clay composite with Iron Core but I'm open for nicer ones too!

They are not clay composite, they are plastic with metal in them. The EPTs you find on here are better than those for sure. Id advise shopping on here and getting a custom set from Tina/groupbuys, itll be around the same price and you get whatever you want. Take your time!

I'll also probably get some Clay ones from Majestic or Skyline
They are not Clay (Not Paulson like those commonly used by Casino)

Majestic is known as China Clay : Plastic Com with no Metal inlay

Skyline is known as Card Mold or Tina CM : Ceramic with Card molding

Get some samples, not all chip is make the same and not everyone taste is the same as well, YMMV

I have been doing a lot of homework and I settled on what I think is one of the best looking chips. Added a little Narv flair but kept the classic logo! Hope I like them in person. Getting shipped this week.

Count-Denomination-Color
200 - 0.25 Tangerine Orange
200 - 1 White
400 - 5 Pink
160 - 25 Light Blue
40 -100 Black

These look awesome, I'm also new to chipping like OP, can I ask what software/ website you used to design these and where you plan on having them made? I am also a fan of the EPT design but want to add my own bit to them.

I reached out to kailegame.com. https://www.kailegame.com/product/ceramic-poker-chips/solid-ept.html Just game them my color/denim preferences and asked if I could get NARV instead of EPT. They emailed me samples within the hour! I think they were like .40/chip. Very reasonably priced. I had to use pay pal to purchase and I was told I will get them this week! Hopefully it all works out. I will post pictures when I receive them.

Just finished building my table. It’s a spin off of the amazing ocean table I found on here. Mine is nothing in comparison but being my first table build I’m happy. I wanted colorful chips that would look good getting tossed around on it.
