Indeed, I did not expect to be in the position to make such a post, but here we are. And it breaks me a little.
It took me a good effort to put together this (I believe) beautiful set of JDs: amazing help from a few great chippers that I will always feel indebted to, a trip to the US to retrieve them, and some luck. Sadly, my poker group permanently disbanded just about two weeks after I brought the chips home... I have been able to felt them once. And it was a lot of fun.
It is a pity to let them go, but I see no chance to play them in the future. My friends either dropped the hobby or go play in clubs now. Yes, I could keep them on my desk and look at them, which I already do and they look wonderful. But at this point, if someone can make better use for them, that'd be great.
Ok, enough with the back story. The actual set:
- 200 $1
- 200 $5
- 100 $25 (watermelons)
- 80 $100 (primary)
- 20 $500 (primary)
Total: 600 pieces
I assembled it to be perfect for a cash game, either short-handed or full ring. The 500s add quite some depth (and are beautiful!).
Price asked: €2700 + shipping. Chips are in Europe.
To be honest, I am not trying to make money out of this, just to get back what I paid.
I'm selling the full set as 1) it would be less hassle for everyone involved and 2) it takes a while to form a nice full set like this, it would be a pity to break it.
I will consider splitting in the future, if I can't find a buyer.
PS. I also have six Apache-equivalent racks, which I'm leaving out of this sale for now. But if somebody is interested, I can sell those as well.
