As I spend my night tenderly hand washing some chips I think to myself there is no way I would ever sell this set (Palais Des Congres). But then I see some of the crazy prices being paid for some sets and think..maybe? What is the gem set of your collection and what would it take to pry it out of your hands?

I don't sell, I add to my sets, or trade . I haven't sold a set yet. But if I need money for something I would start with the Diamondbacks or Bahamia, (please don't pm me with offers)

I agree with Ovo..trade is the way to go for tough to make sets. Both parties benefit. Cash can always be replenished.
Those are some sick customs...Hmmmmmm.

I don't own any customs, so I don't really have any sets that I wouldn't sell (for the right price). That said, most of what I have now would be much harder to replace than cash.

all my chips can be bought.....for shitcrazy prices so if anyone wants to pay 3 to 5 times market value they are yours and i will pay shipping and take paypal...:D

but you have to buy them all.

When it comes to custom sets? I doubt anyone will ever sell theirs. On the other hand, there are sets that owners that state 100% that they will never part ways with, only to see them posted up on the classifieds because that set never saw the felt, the breakdown was not adequate, or they need to make the money because something better came along.

I could actually see selling off some of the CPC Exit Only Lounge tournament primaries when I move back home and they would be for what I paid. That is because I have more customs coming. :) The sets that I would have a very, very hard time parting with would be the Terrible's secondary sets, SPM tournament set and my Dunes.

Ten grand. I'll even toss in a roundtrip on South West Airline for you to come to my house, play a session with us and take home a set of your choice. But you would have to pay in advance.

If it is business class from Dhahran, you might not be making any money......:)

Sadly, Southwest Airline doesn't have business class and doesn't fly outside North America. But if you made your way from Dhahran to the USA, I'd get you the rest of the way.

Yeah, I suppose if somebody made an insane offer for my Olivia's, I might sell. Can't imagine what they'd go for in today's market.

As for CdN, well, let's not go there.

I figured you'd take 8 grand, get more made, and pocket the change.

I'd sell my custom set that haven't even arrived yet for 3k... Then use that money to buy twice as many the second time lol

You mean I don't have to give up the rights???

OK, OK, but I'm still not doing it for 8 grand. Uniqueness is worth more than that. 20 grand and we've got a deal. :cautious:

I was all set to come on here and say all my stuff is for sale at all times for fairly reasonable prices, but the problem with my custom sets is that they're irreplaceable. My ASM set is on the smooth plain mold which is now out of commission and my MGK and flame mold hotstamps were produced by BCC.

Also, it's really funny to see this come up now...

...because the players at a table I was playing at last week were discussing various hypotheticals (how many 5 year olds could you fight; would you rather fight 30 duck sized horses or 1 horse sized duck; etc.) and one guy comes in with this gem:

Would you let Robert Redford in his prime bang your wife for a million?

Literally no one at the table had any reservation in giving an immediate unqualified yes and guffawed at the idea that anyone would say no. My wife also thought it was a no brainer obv, but perhaps for more understandable reasons.

Better question - would you let Robert Redford in his prime bang you for 24 hours for a million bucks?

I question whether Robert Redford, even in his prime, could bang anyone for 24 hours. However, I am sure he'd have a lot of trouble keeping it up if he was banging me during that span of time. I don't think I'm his type.

As a friend of mine says all the time...."Now that we know what you are all that's left is to agree to a price..."
