I've done searches trying to find this topic, but haven't found much. I've been fooling around with a project that could benefit from one of CPC's two oversized inlays, and was wondering if there are examples of sets folks have created that used the oversized inlays to create something beautiful.

I'd much appreciate any tips on finding these projects, or even folks sharing them here in the thread. Thank you!

I am biased, but I love mine:

What is your definition of oversized? I was thinking it is when the inlay intrudes to the mold. But some of the above look to abutt the mold instead. Maybe I've got the term wrong in my head.

That is what I think of as well. I think I have seen maybe one CPC set that may have done that, but could not find it for him.

These are awesome - thank you for sharing. The FLD would be an option for my design, where the inlay art takes center stage, as yours does.

One thing I'm realizing is that CPC may not do the "casino style" oversized inlays I was thinking of.

I'm inspired by the beauty and cleanness of MGM Detroit overlays, especially the frac and snappers, which is one thing I'd love to replicate in a design. But I'm not sure if something like that is even possible with CPC.

They would probably do it but they warn against it in the design tool. I do not think it would end up looking as polished as the Paulson giant inlays do. Reach out to David Spragg. He will let you know if it is even possible and may have an example photo you can look at.

If you are thinking of the giant inlays you see on some casino Paulsons... the ones that go most of the way to the edge of the chip, CPC can't make ones that large as they don't have the punches to cut the inlays to that size. The largest inlay they can produce is 1-1/16 inch in diameter:

(top of the page here... and in this example, there's a 1-1/16" inlay on a HHR chip, so that's a case where it's "caution" in the design tool but obviously doable).

@Tonysquander said above, reach out to David and see what he says.
