Hey, at least we're getting our straws back, amirite?

I think if you strain your used water through a cloth covid mask it will stop anything from entering the environment. Then once it’s filled with polluting and other contaminants you can just throw it in an ordinary trash can like normal medical waste.

Lol, I can't tell if you're being facetious or serious

I hate these crap article headlines. I can't even find a link or mention to the actual scientists. I just see "scientists from Nanjing University". Do the bare minimum and give us the name of the paper or authors! I'm not asking for a full reference list, just respect the scientists you're writing about and give the audience something more.

Here's the actual paper. Its not interesting or attention grabbing, its just important incremental science figuring out what can kill us and what we should worry about. They don't clutch their pearls or say we need to immediately ban anything. They bring up biomagnification, the fact that organisms higher in the food chain will catch more of it down stream.

I'm not one to really read articles where the headline is very attention grabby and/or click baity but I just saw the words Ban and Magic Sponge and figured this needed to be here. They are trying to blasphemisize our weapon of choice goddammit!!!

You did actual research? Do you even know how to use the internet? All the "facts" you ever need to know are
  • click-throughs with a drama-laden message
  • on your favorite podcast - but only if the podcaster has the same political ideology as you (like anyone would listen to a podcast with an opposing POV).
  • Read in 15 seconds or less via a meme.
Internet research... Pfft! What is this, 1993?

So you’re telling me I should ask AI to do the research for me?

Yeah definitely didn't mean that as a shot against you, its a hilarious connection lol. I just get worked up over this shit. Anything else I add to the discussion will send me to the Politics subforum.
