Hi everyone,

I’ve been researching custom poker chip labeling and wanted to open up a discussion on the best practices for achieving durable and aesthetically pleasing results.

From what I’ve seen, there are several approaches to labeling:

  1. Printed Labels: Easy to customize, but durability can be a concern with frequent handling.
  2. Engraving or Hot Stamping: Offers a professional and long-lasting finish, though it can limit design flexibility.
  3. Embedded Designs: Arguably the most durable option, but often only available through high-end manufacturers.
For those who have experience customizing chips, I’m curious:
  • What labeling method has worked best for your needs?
  • How do you ensure the designs remain vibrant and resistant to wear?
  • Are there specific manufacturers or materials you would recommend for high-quality chips?
I’m particularly interested in hearing about creative design tips for custom chip sets, as well as any pitfalls to avoid. Thanks in advance for sharing your insights!

Looking forward to learning from the community!

Hi, no durability issues with #1 if you use Gear labels. Price will be the deciding factor I expect. What do you consider to be a reasonable price to pay per chip.

You could be looking at anything from $0.25 to $7.50

They all have their merits.

Terminology and searching will help:

1. Over label, inlay replacement/murder
2. Hot stamp
3. Inlay on high end compression molded clay chips (CPC is the only option).
