Not Mine Fake statement of provenance for CDI98 chips on eBay (3 Viewers)

It is really ridiculous. And then you have the lazy "copy" listings that just claim the replicas are movie props and that gets copied by the next bozo...

Can you explain more? I must have missed previous posts.
I don't know that there are a ton of posts about it, but on eBay it is not uncommon to see the replica chips (what we identify as CDI98s) identified as "prop" chips. At some point someone intentionally or ignorantly described the green background label CDI98s they were selling as real "movie prop" chips. Those were never used in License to Kill. The red background label 10/50/100/500 and 6 black background label NCVs are the real movie prop chips.

This thread has some OK pictures of the denominated prop chips:

I just won the $500 movie prop chip over the weekend in a Super Bowl bet!

Everybody and their mother claims that CDI98 chips were movie props made for and used in the License To Kill movie. This is the first time I have seen a fake COA associated with them on an eBay listing.

This guy may have been scammed himself. He posted an update saying they're fake. But he hasn't taken down the listing. lol
