Been researching colors for a custom cash set. What's everyone's favorite colors and edge spots for these denominations: 25c, $1, $5, $20/$25, $100.

I'm partial to classic casino colors. Red 5, green 20/25, black 100. But I'm on the fence with white or blue 1, and 25c colors.

Thanks!

Welcome!
Classic casino colors come in two standards, you can read more about it in the New Members Start Here post, found in my signature (landscape on mobile)

White would be the Vegas standard, but thats gross imo because it gets dirty so fast, White should only be used for 100s or 500s imo.

Favorite color for custom, most would think of the CPC colors, which I would bet that most would say the best base color is Dayglow Peach, which is one of my Favorites as well.

Fracs for a Standard Vegas standard would be yellow or blue, I think yellow works better.

I couldn't pick between yellow, peach, tiger for my workhorse chip ($5) so I went with all of them for my latest CPC order:

The frac is non denom, so that I can use it for a .25 or .50 or something else.

I think it’s important to remember that you’re mostly just playing with three chips - the 25c, the $1, and the $5. So you want to stay hyper focused on those three. And that’s why I’m always advising against a pink 25c when you’re using a red $5 - if you only have three different chips on the table, why would you want two of them to be almost the same color? And I’m not even color blind, but I’d advise against a brown 25c with a red $5 for the same reason - I played that combo once, and i wasn’t the only guy at the table who kept reaching for one when I wanted the other. (Sold that set after that game.)

It has not been my experience that white $1s get very dirty in a home game - they just don’t get enough use for that. But I’ve never hosted more than once or twice a month and there’s never pizza at the table, so your results may vary. (Though I’d add that of your chips are getting that dirty, wouldn’t you want to clean them every so often, instead of using darker colors to disguise the grime?)

All that said, my favorite colors for 25c (while using classic white - red - green) are light blue or yellow.

White chips for top values only. As workhorses, they stop being white in a short while.

Other than that, I love accommodating somewhere in a set shades of purple/lavender/fuchsia/pink. Edit: or yellow.
Do whatever you like with your frac, everything is "legit".

You forgot the $2, $17, NCV, and Dinner Token chips but that's okay:

On a serious note, I'm all about classic color line-ups but everything should be taken on a case by case basis. If rules are going to be bent, people need to make sure the chips are not surrounded by clashing colors (base or inserts). For example, standard pink fracs do work well with red fives with distinct inserts for Paulson (see Silver Star), although hot pink really doesn't.

You can never go wrong with classic lineups as noted in previous posts though (although what specific shade you use of the color matters too):

NV - pink/yellow frac - white/blue one - red five - green twenty-five - black hundo

Cali - red quarter - green 50c - blue one - yellow five - black twenty - purple twenty-five - white hundo

My favorite chip colors are red, white, blue, orange, green, purple, pink, black, and brown and all of their variations and mixes.

I think that just about covers it

I got a CPC color sample and I’m in love with light blue and light green
