Hi all, curious to hear what your favorite mass produced set is. So no customs, no casino chips, but your favorite mass produced, for consumer chips that your neighbor could purchase a set of right now if he wanted to. If you have photos, please share too! Always love seeing other people's chips.

For available from a vendor right now, these.

I think the Majestics (39mm), Bank (39mm) and Royals (43mm) from Apache are decent as far as China clays go.

I mention these in the same breath because they seem to be essentially the same material.

Not too heavy, shuffle decently, OK sound.

The biggest issue I have with most msss-produced chips is their ridiculously overweighting.

I’m always shuffling chips and these suck to handle over the course of a long game. Not to mention that most of these have a lousy texture.

Nexgen Pro (now Remix variant
Agreed! These were the last cheap chips I ever bought. I remember telling the wife “this is the last set I’ll ever need to buy.” ☠️

I like the edge spots and light weight. Plus they have the letters PL combined which happens to be my initials.

And they are an easy re-label chip.

I have the 43mm Royals as well. I get what you mean about weight though. I also got a set of KGB Pandas and they came in at around 9gr, as much as a casino chip. So even if I don't like the texture of the Pandas, at least the weight is right.

Any chance you had a chance to compare Nexgens to Milanos?

Being a Nexgen fan (Lucky Bee’s and 8000’s), I got a sample. I would recommend these to someone stepping up without a doubt but they are a modern day and typical reboot from an older variant and come up just a wee bit short. I think it was the weight; I was expecting classic Nexgen tonnage and was prepared to grab a set just because but am doubling down on everything Nexgen from the golden age. Would recommend as a step up for sure.

Yes, through an intermediary. You gots to pay the middleman. Sometimes more than the chips themselves cost.
I’d argue this is only true with the initial sales from Mr Jeep. Now these are no longer available to the masses to be purchased right now. You’d have to search for a “3rd party” seller rather than a “vendor”.

that your neighbor could purchase a set of right now if he wanted to.
That excludes older leaded Paulson THC offerings like Casino de Mexico, fabulous las vegas, etc which would certainly be #1 on the list.
Since I care a bit more about feel than looks, I'd probably go with a chinese/tina 43mm hybrid chip. I was going to say that apache sells some, but it looks like theirs all have the larger recess/label, which is inferior, IMO. Not sure if anybody sells them off the shelf, so you might have to go to one of justin's group buys - not sure if that qualifies either.
So next, I'd go to CPC - I'd go the rounders scroll mold with the two largest denoms in 44mm size.
And finally (perhaps second?) I'd agree with @Rhodeman77 above, with the BRpoker DDLMs.

Tigers and customs aside, CPC Rounders is the correct answer.

Wrong. Just ask him directly.
