This is my first attempt at designing a custom set. would love to know what people think / any ideas that could make it better. Bother for the inlay and the chip design. This is for a monthly cash game I host, usually .25/.50.

Gonna design a second set for tournaments after this using more fun colors for the chips, but probably the same or similar inlay.

I think the “Red Star” gets a little lost. If you compare the size of it to the size of the laurels it seems smaller when it should, as the name of the chip, be at least equal size or larger.

Maybe slightly shrink the laurels, make the name bigger and use a thicker font.

Likewise enlarge the rest of the text on the label. At actual chip size they may be difficult to read.

A lot of red on the chips. Did you intend to have the same pattern on the $5 & $20? Why those two?

Well the c25 and the $1 pattern evolve to the $5. Then I was deciding whether the $20 should evolve toward the $100 or let the middle chips be the same for continuity. I was on the fence. Maybe one of these patters would be better for the $20.

Will try this suggestion

I like your design. Above suggestions are good. Maybe consider putting a white stroke (outline) on the RED STAR words to help them stand out?
I was thinking a white stroke as well…or maybe a white drop shadow instead.
And maybe tighten up the space between the $ and the numerals, especially in the $1 and $5.
Also is there a reason the frac is c25 and not 25c?

Great advice all around. Enlarged the title, tightened the dollar sign. changed the pattern on the 20, enlarged font on est. 2022. Also changed one spot on the white chip from green to blue.

never noticed the "c" came after before lolol. but fixed that.

BTW also adding a tournament set. open for comments on that one too.

I like what you have going. I'm not a big fan of white spots, especially next to a white chip, so I would encourage you to try a different edge spot color on your $5 unless you just really want the white.

I don't know if I am the only to notice this or feel this way, but for your $20 chip, I would choose a different color for it. Green is widely used for $25 denom, so it could be confusing to those who play elsewhere or at a casino. My set has yellow as the $20, and I do have some $25 which are the standard green. (I never use the $25 as I got them by accident)

Separately, I really like your overall design of the inlay, and like the colors on the tournament chips. My one note would be to made the words "Red Star" a lighter red to be easier to read; as is, they sort of give my eyes a little headache to read against the black, but that may just be me.

Is there a reason you need "poker room", "BK 103", & "est. 2022"? I would either get rid of them or put them between "RED STAR" and the laurels as part of the circle. Making the denominations larger for less confusion. The denomination needs more contrast color than same color. It gets lost when it shares the same color as the outside of the chip. That is why I prefer your cash set to your tourney set.
