After about a year of searching, I've finally finished compiling my PNY cash game set. For someone who lives in NY, NY I figured it was the right thing to do. Those $1s took forever to find, and when I did they were pretty dirty. Luckily someone invented Sterling all purpose cleaner :)

Here's the before and after of an average $1:

After several hours of painstaking cleaning and oiling, here they are ready for their first game this weekend.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen PNY $1s that dirty, looks like you had your work cut out for you! Nice set and best of luck raking pots with them.

PS - those 25s & 100s are secondaries

lol - missing some snappers too... :ROFLMAO:

Haha I knew they were secondaries too. Just a typo. All of you stop it. The set is "done!"

Unless anyone has $20s to sell? (No, bad. Stop.)

Congrats! It's always a great feeling when you finish the first round of set building. Do you hear that bell? I think Round #2 is getting started....

Very nice! I love my PNYs as well
I don't think you're done though
Great job on cleaning.

I like mixed sets, too, but there is something just a little cleaner/cooler about a complete set like this.

Great set, great accomplishment.

I think it's cute that you said "completed". I "completed" a set of these 3 times. See you in the WTB Classifieds!

(Nice set! I'm jealous.)

Could you provide more details of the cleaning process with the "Sterling all purpose cleaner" please?

I'll share the two cleaning methods I used:
1.) Bought some Sterling Magic All Purpose Cleaner here: http://www.amazon.com/Sterlings-Mag...1&keywords=sterling+magic+all+purpose+cleaner

I used a rag with a dab of the pink stuff for each chip, scrubbing with medium pressure (don't want to ruin the face) until the dirt started to break away. I didn't use any water at all, and the chips came out incredible. The problem is, using this method it'll take you roughly 30 minutes to clean one barrel. Yes you read this correctly. It took me about 2 weeks here and there until I cleaned about 260 of the $1s. My girlfriend thought I was insane.

2.) After finishing about 260 of the $1s I starting going a little crazy because it took so long. I remembered that my Mom always used to swear by Mr. Clean magic erasers, so I went to CVS and bought a pack. I was happy and sad at the same time when I realized with a little bit of warm water and a magic erase the dirt lifted from the chips in seconds with almost no pressure applied at all. I cleaned the remaining 40 in about 15 minutes. The only problem is, the magic erasers tend to go quickly.

After I finished cleaning the chips, I applied some Mineral Oil, let the chips dry over night, and then buffed them dry with a towel to get rid of any excess oil. This really brings out the shine and luster in the chips (especially the 25s and the 100s which are darker in color)

Here's the oil I bought: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005BUNQSM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Here's the applicators I used to apply the oil: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V3Q4BPK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Happy chip cleaning!

Nice! Another fellow New Yorker! That should be more than a dozen now, we should definitely get an east coast thing going!

Congrats! They look great.. makes me regret selling my $1s :(
Fellow NYer who had to have a set of these as well...
Oh yeah, I "finished" my set a while back, but somehow it has grown to 5 times the size.. so now it's sets
