My first Paulson’s are the Dover Downs $1 gaming chips.
_

I started on this forum recently, thinking that I might be able to purchase a World Top Hat and Cane set for under $1k USD.
I clearly havent been following the piker chip market in the last 4-5 years...

I ultimately got discouraged and wanted to buy some affordable Top Hat and Cane chips, quickly.
Dover Downs isn’t the closest casino to me but I’ve always loved their $1 chip - here we are...

30 out of the 100 are in really great shape.
The remaining 70 were really beaten-up.

Advice Request:
Does anyone have advice on how to get higher-quality chips from a casino?

The cashier would not give me chips and forced me to go to the tables.
The table dealers were definitely displeased with me asking for 100 of their singles.
Meanwhile, these things were down-right filthy.
Anyone know of an acceptable route of communication with a casino to ask for fresh chips?

... sorry guys - I’m learning as I go with a tight budget...

Cool chips! If you're being sent away from the cage you'll be hard pressed to get your hands on the nicer chips without some inside help, or playing table to table and pocketing the good ones lol
Never harvested chips just what I've gathered from fellow members experiences

Oh and welcome to PCF, you may be able to get your hands on other casino paulson's, just hang around here for awhile! :ROFLMAO:

For harvesting 1’s, I’d recommend the big wheel game if your casino has it. If not, hit the BJ tables and buy in for $200, ask for $20 in 1’s. Between hands, sort out the shitty chips, use those for tips. Pocket the good 1’s, 2-3 at a time, the dealer won’t notice.
When you get down to 5 1’s, ask for another 20 in chips. Rinse and repeat.

When it’s time to leave, color up your 5’s, but ask for 20 1’s for tips. Sort those on the way to the cage, turn in the rest.

Few more tips:
-A backpack helps.
-Tipping dealers makes em keep the 1’s flowing.
-full tables work the best, more distractions.
-Any time a new dealer gets tagged in, pocket all the 1’s off the table, even the bad chips. Then the dealer won’t fuss with giving you another 20.
-When cashing out at the cage, tip the cashier a couple bucks and ask for another 20 in 1’s for tips to waitresses.

You should be able to get a rack in an hour or so like this.

Edit:
-if you’re traveling via airplane, don’t check in your bag with chips. Lost over 3 racks of chips like this.

-when you tip the waitresses, pocket all your 1’s if you’re running low, tip em a 5 and ask for 3-4 back in change, she will have some on her waitress tray. If she doesn’t, the dealer will make the change for you.
