I've been tractor beamed into my first labeling project, a 500 chip tourney set from @Grimace
Of course I want to spend twice as much time and money on DIY so I would love to crowdsource some opinions / genius from you all who know it best. Also happy to have my hand held / pay for art.
I imagine B&W inlays, plain white background with black ink a la CPC roulettes. But, I don't know what I don't know.
Here's the genesis for the project. I live on a road that sounds like SHUFFLE, so on the front, I would like to feature a title punning on that - e.g. Shuffle Up, The Shuffle, or Shuffle Lane. I have imagined each of the letters of SHUFFLE being tilted (a la Scotty Cameron golf putters) and possibly depicted on "cards," each letter within a rectangle; the title could be fanned out like a poker hand. Plus large, bold tournament denoms on the front, and possibly a subtitle in script font.
On the reverse, I would like to include graphics across all denoms that feature generalized poker idioms like "Bink!," "Runner Runner," etc. and a cute image to match each phrase. There would be 6-10 of these reverse sides, which would be distributed randomly across all denoms. These should NOT be nicknames for specific hands i.e. "Big Slick," "Pocket Rockets" nor standard phrases like "Check Raise," "Burn and Turn," "High Hand," "Fish." I am looking for exciting events in a game that have nicknames associated - see below.
My sister has a cricut machine so I plan to use that. I followed along and will study @GreekRedEye's recent post about templates, adjustments within the cricut software, etc. I plan to make the art in Photoshop.
That's about all I can think of for synopsis.
Here are my ideas for cute phrases. I hope to brainstorm a bunch of these and be able to select the strongest ones, some with positive and some negative connotations.
