Fournier 505... rock solid (2 Viewers)

Found a pair of Fournier 505s on eBay and wanted to check them out. I like the design a lot but damn are they hard as a rock. Ive heard they have a reputation for being rather stiff but im writing to ask if anyone has any recommendations on a different line of Fourniers that are less stiff and/or plastic, instead of plastic coated? I like the classic index on these rather than the poker index as well.
