Still sounds like the debate is in the mold. I'm all for hybrids from SunFly if that's what the general consensus comes to, but I won't have a problem with CC

So to recap where we are in this for anyone that jumps into the fray now...

Taj Mahal Atlantic City chips

Denoms: (most likely) .25 (blue), 1 (white), 5 (red), 20 (yellow), 25 (green), 100 (black), 500 (purple)

Design: Just like the real deal chips. Same Taj logo on the inlay with the denom. No mention of Trump. Either blank at the bottom of the Taj logo or "Atlantic City". Design will be discussed still at length. Hopefully @Johnny5 or @p5woody can take the lead on the design.

Mold: Still being discussed. Sounds like it will come down to CC or ceramic hybrids from SunFly.

Chance of happening: I'd say this sounds like it could happen. I'm definitely more optimistic now than I was when I started the thread. I'd say it's about 60/40 this will happen on some level

The Taj was the first casino I played poker in. It was 2008. I had never seen or even heard of Rounders. I sat in the 4 seat. Seats 1 and 2 across from me became a revolving door of new players coming in and going bust. Later when I finally saw the movie, it was like reliving the experience.

Agreed on the silver labels. What about china clay blanks with Gear labels?

Never made much sense to me to put 30 cents worth of premium labels on a cheap ten-cent chip.

Even ordering blanks, you're looking at 30c per chip minimum, which puts a gear-labeled chip at 60c or higher. Hybrids will be cheaper than that, and put cc chips to shame in terms of quality.

I have a bunch of old cheap chips that would be great with @Gear labels, and have considered doing so many times. I simply can't justify it.

I liked the design, but didn't intend these to go to high end chips for my use. I had started this little home project for a small inexpensive cash set for my home games but haven't gotten around to it yet. Would love to see someone elses chips come to life. I had taken the name "trump" off, added "Atlantic City" and changed the color scheme to all black with the denom in red (to pop off). I have a vector file in adobe illustrator, if this goes somewhere and the artist wants to use my files as a starting pt PM me and I'll contribute to the group.

This is true on the smell. So in all honesty with that in mind I would say we go for hybrids. Hopefully we can keep them at it below 50c

How much does Sun Fly charge for just a 300 order?

Who can make these in CC?

I guess those are my two biggest question. I'm thinking that either way I want to end up with a set of these

That's pretty sweet, Tommy. That $20 chip can even do double-duty as $1000.

In AC, $1ks chips are Orange. The correct color.

There are multiple PCF vendors that will print the Sunfly hybrid blanks for around 90 cents per. These guys will chime in with more info.

Just a heads up to everyone who has read the thread to this point...


Myself and possibly @PhilLaFond are most likely going to go with a CPC ceramic mold as a cheaper option. These run 60-70 cents per roughly. Anyone interested in this mold can stay here in this interest thread and post their interest. Once we get a hold of CPC and start the design process, I will open a new thread to anyone interested in placing an order with us, in the event anyone out there wants these chips but at a cheaper price, if you're like me and have limited funds but are still interested in a set. If it only garners a couple of people who are firm in an order, I'll close said thread and we will place the order for however many chips we have to that point. If it flops and it's only our two orders, we'll place those anyway.

We are discussing designs as we speak. Will hopefully be in touch with a CPC designer this week. I'm hoping that by next week we have designs and possibly a price quote and can open up a sale for both CPC ceramic and A mold versions

Yes the plan is to do this in the plain 39mm ceramic mold from CPC. Not the hybrid mold. And Tommy will do his A mold version, also through CPC. Hoping that by doing both through CPC they'd be willing to give us a deal on at least the artwork and design fees

Just noticed that a certain thread in this section went missing. Looks like I've saved some $$ for these Taj chips now.

Well now that I've had a chance to shuffle the hybrids I'm sold. I'm either going custom, or jumping on the next group buy out of here that resembles a real casino chip. I'm sure there are others here that would see these as the next order in the event that their commitments are returned to them.
