I am closing in on my next custom set of Tina chips. I think I have my fonts where I want them. Colors are getting close. I want to stick with a southwestern color palette to give a more vintage feel to them. Any suggestions/criticism, good or bad, is appreciated. I've been fooling around with the colors so much that I need to take a break and let you guys take a look and see which direction I need to head. I think I might switch to the "web design" vs the "greek mold" - still up in the air about that.

These look great! The label is very well balanced - lots of detail and elements but it is just enough to make it exciting without making it too much! I love the pallette you've chosen! They really have that old western vibe. I really think you should do these on the web mold instead of the greek mold. In my head it doesn't make sense to use the greek mold with this southwestern theme you got going. Just my thoughts. :)

Ha - more votes for the web mold. That works for me -

I think the general design itself is dead on perfect and really a great effort.

I think the 0.50c chip is the real stunner so whatever your workhorse chip is I'd understand wanting it to be that color.

My comments are more about playability:

I personally prefer casino standard colors when possible.
Cactus green $25? - maybe take the greenish 25c and make it the 25$ color and bump the 50c design down to 25c

I would not get $10 chips unless you play $10 $10 NLHE or a limit game with a $10 bet.

I would keep similar colors further apart in denom like Red 5s are great BUT if you insist on $10 chips and will table both at same time then red 5s and sort of reddish 10s worry me for quick identification when bet or just looking at the pot.

So my final rec:
Make 25c color the 25$ or make a cactus green $25 and then make the 50c the 25c and don't get a 50c chip.

If you insist on 25c and 50c and $1 at least make the 50c yellow and the $1 the teal so they're not neighboring - that also makes a blueish 1 which is a standard $1 color.

After reading everyone's suggestions, here's where I am now. I had all those denominations because when we started playing 15-20 years ago, those are the denominations we settled on. Everyone has to grow up sometime  :ROFLMAO: The $5 and $20 are a bit close in color, but the $20 chips hardly come into play in our game. I'm getting closer.

Oh yeah. There's no issues with $20s and not $25s, especially if people buying in with Jacksons. Any x4 or x5 will do to the successive chip. You had x2 twice so that was my :vomit:.

I think the colors are great. That's a real winner. You might as well add $100 for some more playability since you already had the black AND make a royalty deal for those chips. Winner winner.

Great job on these. You pared down the number of different denoms in the set to 4 and that's fine.
If you wanted a 5th color in the set, here's what I do: I have all denominated chips with the exception of ONE color which I label as "AV". That means "Assigned Value". I use that as my "floater" chip. I can use it as 5¢, 10¢, $2, $100, $500... you get the idea. I just announce at the beginning of the game what that chip's value is. The rest of the chips have denoms so there's no confusion. Others use NCV or no denom for the same purpose.
It gives you a lot of versatility by only adding 100 more chips to the set (whether you use AV, NCV, no denom). I've found that just one rack of AV chips is all I need if I want to fill any "gaps" or raise or lower the stakes of the game.
Good Luck with these, they really appeal to me.
Oh, and I like the Greek mold for this particular design. You can decide that for yourself but I don't think the web mold melds with the style of your inlay. You could even play around with a "no mold" chip and use a faux mold printed on the outer rim..
"LA CASA VERDE" perhaps? But that style of chip is printed with no recessed label so that's up to you. Just a thought.

I think that's a great idea. Pick the black chip off the cutting room floor. 100 Black AVs and you can play .05 / .10 or assign them $100 value and add $10,000 to your bank for a bigger game. If you'd never play nickel/dime maybe add $100 Blacks and make the grey the AV which can be $500 if needed.

Thanks fellas. I really like the idea of an assigned value chip. Probably bring in the black chip. Still a work in progress. Getting closer by the day
