I can't believe I paid $75CAD/setup for this and had cards with different backings. Most of the cards are the same color, but some are a lot lighter than the others.

It wasn't a 1-off thing either - the regular ones I ordered were the most blatant, but the Jumbo ones I had also contained some misprints. These were from two different sellers on two different platforms too.

And to top it off I dont even know what to do with the other two black decks that are fine, I can't use them together because both are black and I cant use them with other KEMS because one is Jumbo and one is non-jumbo. So annoying.

Kem misprints in non-Jumbo (right cards are clearly different shades vs left ones.

This is more bullshit then the phone incident and the MrCatPants washroom paint incident.

Kem misprints in non-Jumbo (right ones are blatantly different from the left ones).

Wow, it is super obvious. Get a refund. I love KEM, but the standard is dropping and quite evidently, the QC is out of control. I don't think I've bought a KEM setup from KEM themselves since I joined this site.

I buy in bulk and didn't open them till now. We used these last Friday for about an hour before one of the players pointed it out. I'm at least 2 months past the return window so literally have no recourse.

Is it possible that one of the decks is not legit KEM? I have heard of knock-offs.
I believe it is manufacturer error because they came from two separate vendors (both are the two largest vendors in Canada, one is in BC the other one is in Ontario) who have better things to do than scam customers lol. Next time I'll buy em in person and crack them open instead of ordering them online.

You need to contact KEM and show them this pics.
I would say that they will exchange your sets.....
Anyway keep us posted

KEM always had great customer service but times are changing, will see.

PS.
So far I can say for sure that as much as I do not like Copag they have premium customer service. I wonder if KEM stays true to their legacy....

BTW, can you post pics of AoS from faulty decks?

I loved Kem before they were bought out by uspc. The old decks I used to get thousands and thousands of hands and they didn’t bow or fade. That was probably my first dozen decks of so back in 2000-2004?

Then Ken cards I bought starting bowing on me every time. After that I started using the bicycle prestige since they were cheap. Then used modiano platninum (before they jerked over design). Now I use the broken arrow cards from Justin. Yes they fade after a while and they’re a little stiff but for $6/setup I can use a deck for a night and throw them away without much remorse.

For informational/educational purposes I shared this with the vendors ai got it from.

One of the vendors offered a replacement (I turned it down as its not their fault but the manufacturers).

The other vendor was sympathetic.

All in all I will mail these cards to KEM and see what they can do.

The new black and red ones are a slight slight bit flexier, give em a try.

Compared to these ones I find them a tad flexier. I tossed my old decks because I didn't like the font so can't compare to the OGs.

That's interesting. I had the second release of the black and gold, and I don't remember thinking they felt too stiff. But then when I got the ones you've pictured above, I thought they felt stiff. Hmm. Plot thickens.

Maybe one deck was poker size and the other was bridge?

Ill second that, black/red feel better in my hands. Little slippery for my taste but shuffle great.

I can double check in a few. It was my first thought handling them though, compared to the blu/green. They black and red felt a tad more flexy, which I like, I like both setups honestly.

They are, but the blue and green are poker size and they're the ones that felt stiffer to me. And it's always been my belief that if they're on the same stock, poker size will feel flexier than bridge.
Maybe I'm just nitpicking or maybe I'm wrong, but since I no longer own the black and gold setup, I can't compare them.

Edit - the blue and greens are bridge, sorry

We totally fucked this guy's thread , but why stop now? Anyway, my blue/greens above are bridge.

Ugh. I'm a dummy. Mine are too.
All good, it's only Wednesday. So I just checked again and I'd say the cards above are exactly one card thicker than the black and red, and the black and red so indeed feel slightly more flexy.

Super sorry for the derailment, although that's a fantastic game, many tears.

If anything

Don’t buy Kems anymore

Broken arrows at $6setup. Yes they’re stiff. Yes they fade a little. But for $6 they’re hitting way above their weight.

Also Lou did a write up on all the Amazon cheap decks too and I’ve tried several and they’re pretty good. Chips and games
